At the close of the November 3rd election Democrat Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi was leading his Republican challenger, County Legislator Ed Mangano by 237 votes.  Democrat Nassau Comptroller Howard Weitzman was losing to Republican challenger George Maragos by 576 votes and Democrat Legislator Dave Mejias was trailing Republican opponent Joe Belesi by just 28 votes.

Channel 13’s Sean Carroll reported last light that John Ferlicca, GOP primary challenger to Chili Supervisor David Dunning admitted that he and town board primary candidate Dario Marchioni hired a private investigator to dig into Dunning’s past.  The report included information about Dunning’s wife, their 8 year-old son and included their social security numbers.
