The union backed, ultra leftist backed Working Families Party is being investigated by the US Attorney for their questionable role in several New York City political campaigns.
From Liz Benjamin:
According to CFB filings, Lander spent close to $54,000 on Data and Field Services. He told me he had three WFP employees – including his campaign manager, Nancy Leeds – working on his campaign when it was in full swing.
Lander is the fourth WFP candidate to publicly confirm receiving a subpoena from the US attorney. The others include: Public Advocate-elect Bill de Blasio.
Interestingly, former WFP Treasurer Mike McGuire, who abruptly resigned his post in September, reportedly citing concerns of “sloppy bookkeeping”, told me this morning he has not received a subpoena from the US attorney.
McGuire said he has been subpoenaed in connection with the lawsuit brought against the party for its work on behalf of Councilwoman-elect Debi Rose.
