Cinci couldn’t have set this ‘breaking story’ up any better today. According to Newsday.com, Democrat Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi has finally conceded defeat to his Republican opponent Edward Mangano.
Suozzi is the next Democrat victim to fall prey to voter outrage over how poorly Democrats are running our state and federal governments. Locally, Republicans won re-election races all across Monroe County and the Democrat Irondequoit and Mendon town supervisors were sent packing.
Not surprising is Suozzi’s reaction to losing. It has become the mantra of the Democrat Party and their supporters who can’t comprehend how upset regular people are these days:
“I’m very disappointed. I’m disappointed in the voters. I’m disappointed in the Democratic Party, but I’m mostly disappointed in myself,” Suozzi said. “I would have liked to have done a better job getting more people out to vote that supported me in this race.”
I guess Democrats only want to encourage people to vote when it means they’ll win. Voting any other way is now a bad thing. It’s unsurprising that Democrats are so openly blaming voters and expressing their disappointment in the will of the people. Unsurprising and typical.
At least Suozzi takes some responsibility, well, sort of. He, like many losing Democrats from this election, still doesn’t get it, or maybe he just refuses to. That’s why Dems lost big time this year and will continue to do so.
There’s another GOP win in Nassau, from the story:
In another development, Democratic incumbent Comptroller Howard Weitzman also conceded defeat Tuesday to Republican challenger George Maragos.
There is still the issue of a close County Legislature race. Don’t yet know if the Republican locked that one up.
Another reason to congratulate the voters for realizing that the Democrats’ promise of positive Change is a lot like Global Warming/Climate Change, they’re both just a bunch of crap. Good work Nassau voters!
