Funny, in the weeks preceding the November 3rd election, Democrat District Attorney Mike Green was all over the media.  His office was indicting Republicans left and right.  Local Democrats were giddy that this was going to help them “win” a majority in the county legislature.

Democrat HQ had a well timed mail program to coincide with these indictments and all was well with the world. They even used Mike Green’s work in an attempt to discredit well respected Town Justice John Demarco in his successful bid for County Court.

Then things changed really quickly.  Did their internal polling show that their plan wasn’t working?  Suddenly, charges against Penfield Councilman Andy Moore were reduced.  Months of rumors regarding Irene Matchyn being arrested led to nothing.  Suddenly Mike Green was no where to be found.   

Funny thing is I still haven’t seen much of Mike Green.  I think the Democrats over playing politics with the criminal investigations had as much to do with Republican success earilier this month than President Obama or Governor Paterson.  Am I way off base?  Let me know what you think.
