The author misstates some facts and ignores many other important ones. Nullification is a theory that has never actually worked in this nation. No group can effectively work together if everyone has a choice not to work together. This applies to a nation as well.

The author briefly mentions, almost as an afterthought, the amendment process which served to make the changes the issues over which the theory of nullification either caused or was related to such as, for example, slavery.

He misses the point entirely about the amendment system. It is entirely responsible for keeping this Constitution viable and without it, our Constitution will die. He mentions a convention. The correct term is an Article V Convention and given the complex nature of our problems today, is the ONLY solution which will work. Amendments work. Tenth Amendment lawsuits have not and will not. Tea Parties accomplish nothing. Only amendments work.

All 50 states have submitted 750 applications for an Article V Convention. The texts of the applications can be read at www.foavc.org. Congress, in violation of the Constitution, has refused to obey the Constitution. It has assumed therefore the power of nullification over the Constitution.

Those that favor nullification at the state level had better realize soon what they are advocating can also apply to the federal government. It is also sovereign. The street runs both ways. The only answer is amendment and the sooner everyone realizes that, the quicker the problems can be solved.
