Dave Garretson has finally stopped posting lies and false accusations about his side’s political opposition and that is a good thing.  I haven’t seen any new posts that have been as misleading and inaccurate as the one’s he previously written.  He’s even toned down the political rhetoric and is finally acting more civil and appropriate, and less mean spirited in his posts.

I understand how this got away from him.  Dave Garretson is supporting Dan Maloney and the rest of the Democrat slate, both financially and in running their campaigns.  His site is another opportunity to support Maloney and post some not so nice things about his opponent.  The problem for Dave at the time is he let the party line political spin and attack verbage get away from him.  It happens, but when you go from messaging for your guy to actually lying about his opponent that’s where you need to check yourself and decide what kind of person you want people to know you as. 

Plus I think he realized that his actions will negatively affect Maloney and the rest of the slate during the campaign.  Maloney doesn’t need the bad stigma of associating himself with someone like this.  And no one in their right mind would believe that Dave, a former Greece Democrat candidate, a member of the Greece Democrat party, playing a senior campaign role, making large campaign donations and running a political site that attacks the other side, is acting completely on his own here.  He was lying and spreading false accusations in and effort to help Dan Maloney..

But it looks like Dave has done a bit of reflection and soul searching and realized he was getting out of control.  Good for him for realizing this and for correcting it.
