Joe Spector, Gannett News Service, posted this update on the Democrat & Chronicle website about his colleague Jay Gallagher’s recent surgery for pancreatic cancer.
Our dear friend and colleague Jay Gallagher, the Albany bureau chief for the past 25 years, is recovering well in a Boston hospital after having surgery for stage II pancreatic cancer last week.
He was upbeat and sounded great when I spoke to him over the weekend. And he must be feeling better: He’s already writing about the days of Zenia Mucha and former Sen. Marty Knorr on the wonderful blog his family set up.
You can read Jay’s blog about his recovery here.
Also, he stressed how much the cards, emails and phone calls from everyone at the Capitol and beyond has meant to him in his recovery.
You can email Jay at jaygallagheralbany@gmail.com.
We posted here about Jay just before he went into surgery and are very happy to here everything went well. Glad to see him posting on his blog. Once again, we wish him all the best and our continued thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
