Friends, a Clown will soon be walking on to the floor of the United States Senate…

With Norm Coleman’s concession yesterday, the path has been cleared for Comedian Al Franken to take his seat as the Junior Senator from Minnesota.  I think Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe has said it the best.

Ill tell you what a lot of people are thinking, and that is it looks like things are going to be over and we are going to get the clown from Minnesota, I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown.”

Franken will become the 58th Senate Democrat and will give the caucus its 60th vote, theoretically giving the Democrats a filibuster-proof supermajority.
