Reports are coming in that the Senate Democrats have actually locked themselves in the chamber and are barring access to reporters and the public.  Apparently, and according to their own words they have taken control of the podium and the gavel in what looks like an attempt to prevent the bipartisan reform coalition from one again trying to hold a meeting to get some work done before the senate session ends.

In true “taking my toys and going home” fashion, the Democrats have taken over and appear to be suggesting that there would have to be a physical altercation to get them to come to their senses.  One reporter suggests this would not be a fair fight because democrats have more younger members on their side.

Heck, the democrats have Senators Kevin Parker and Hiram Monseratte on their team and that’s all they need.  Parker was charged with assaulting a NY Post news reporter and Monserrate is charged with slashing his girlfriend’s face in a jealous drunken rage.  Plus the democrats have the Al Sharpton army of ACORN workers who’ve already proven they’ll go after you - even if you’re a woman!  I sure as hell wouldn’t want to tangle with that bunch.  (Side note: where was NOW NY’s outrage over that female staffer getting spit on by that ACORN guy?)

Hmmm, shutting out the media and the public sounds like a probable charge of breaking the open meetings law.  That and threatening to and possibly using physical force just might (call me crazy) bring about additional charges against the Senate Democrat Thug Team.

Once again, if the Senate Republicans were doing any of this there’d be a boatload of television news crews on site as well as newspaper reporters and editorial boards screaming for the state troopers and National Guard to be brought in to restore order.

And to think, the joint liberal/progressive blogsmear and Democrat Party machine still says we at monroerising.com are wrong when we point out media bias.

Ya, right.  Keep telling yourselves that.

Update – Reports are that the Senate Bipartisan Coalition entered the chambers just after 2:00 to begin their session.  Senate Democrats are physically blocking a Senator from accessing the podium to try to call the session to order.  It also looks like the Democrats remained true to their word, the public access feed into the chamber is still shut down so we don’t get to see what our representatives are doing.  So much for open government.

Updtae x2 – It appears the “One Party anti-Reform Coalition” has fell victim to their own childish games.  The Bipartisan Reform Coalition began session (albeit on the floor in front of the podium since access is blocked) and is passing what are termed non-controversial bills.  Apparently when the roll is called, any member present unless they state otherwise is registered as voting ‘aye.’  The One Party anti-Reform Coalition isn’t acknowledging the roll calls so are registering as ‘ayes.’  Looks like the Bipartisan Reform Coalition is able to get bills passed while the Senate Democrats continue to sit and pout.

What’s annoying for all of us trying to watch what is going on is the fact that the Senate Democrats keep killing the video feed.  They turn it on for a few seconds so Malcolm Smith can call for the Senate to stand at ease and then it goes dark.  Malcolm’s called to stand at ease no less than five times now.  WTF?  Then stand at ease already!!!
