CP — you’re off base on Robach. I’d challenge you to name any current Democrat who helped Robach when he was first elected to the Assembly (all of those people became Republicans before he did).
He ran unopposed, his father’s campaign account had nearly 100k and he never had a serious challenge in that seat.
Secondly, he never had a committee chairmanship. Maybe he should have stayed in the Assembly — he could be like Dave Koon — there for 13 years and still waiting for Shelly to throw him a few crumbs!

Come on CP, you’re better than that. Everyone knows Robach and the other Upstate Assemblymembers staged the coup against Silver because Silver was ignoring Upstate and driving everything to New York City. It remains the same to this day. It was an attempt at change that was well worth the effort. Don’t we like change?

Silver punished Robach and Rochester residents by taking state funding support away from our area and giving portions of Robach’s district to Assemblymen who don’t work as hard.

You should be more supportive of Rochester and Upstate NY. Let the New York City folks fight their own battles.

Kind of like Robach who participated in an attempted coup of Silver in the Assembly which failed and when he lost his committee chair posts and his pork spending he flipped and ran for the senate looking for a new majority to work under.

He took thousands from Democrats and lot’s of “man” hours as well – I agree that’s a sell out!

Mitch great memory and good point. I think there is a big difference. Demming used the Dems as a vehicle to run and they used him as a candidate. He was elected, found out he worked well with Reps and figured he could serv e public better.
Alesi took hundreds of thousands of dollars from Reps. If he switches so Malcolm Smith could be leader he is a.sell out!

I cannot see this happening- knowing Jim Alesi for over 20 years- I just cannot see him going to the dark side – it is only a rumor
