Yesterday, Sherman wrote about Joe Biden’s latest stunner, wherein he told a crowd to expect an early test of the Obama administration by our enemies.
What really struck me about Biden’s comments was this:
“And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”
Why will they (the administration) need “help”? It seems quite obvious that Biden was suggesting that the response by the Obama administration to this “crisis” will be unpopular. How does Joe know that the public won’t initially support them? Does this mean that Obama, Biden and their advisers have already considered their response to various crises? Have they decided to take strong, military responses off the table?
So, if Iran should bomb Israel, is use of force, off the table? If Russia decides to “absorb” Georgia or the Ukraine, is use of force off the table?
Wouldn’t it be nice if the media would ask those questions? Instead, as Rush Limbaugh noted, the msm is focused on the cost of Sarah Palin’s clothes. I have been annoyed at and critical of the failings of the media. But this failure is shocking. A candidate for VP makes a statement that should be closely studied and questioned, but our in-the-tank media ignores it.
Something tells me that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Vladimir Putin and our “friends” in China, Venezuela, and North Korea won’t ignore it. I’d bet they heard Joe loud and clear.
