The Democrats Need Fewer Lawyers
Yesterday Joe Biden in a town hall meeting in Florida said that his administration will pursue legal charges against the Bush administration for what they believe was violating the law.
There are entirely too many lawyers in the democratic party. In legal terms the precedent that would be set if a new administration decided to comb through records and make an argument that a previous administration violated the law, would so cripple the administration of this country that presidents will become nothing but figure heads. The 3:00 am phone call would be quickly followed up with a 3:02 am phone call to a lawyer, then about a week later papers would be filed with a court to request a judge to do something, within about 6-9 months there would be a decision followed by three years of appeals. By that time Russia will have over run Georgia… as well as Florida and South Carolina. You thought I meant the country

You can count on Biden to say many stupid things between now and election day. Especially in off the cuff situations like a town hall setting.
He’ll probably make some insensitive comment, stereotyping a race of people who apprently only work in 7-11s in this country.
Why are the democrats throwing thier big chance to take over the presidency away like this?
Uhm.. reality check? Did you not hear people clapping? A very good margin of people in the US think Bush/Cheney committed crimes. Several have been brought forth as articles of impeachment that are still being held back by Pelosi. Lots of people think they should be going after them now, or years ago, not in 4 months. Saying you’ll go after them once they’re out of office seems a little too late, but some will think “at least they’ll go after them”.
Personally, I think it’s a good move, and well spoken out. He’s saying if they broke the law (and there’s lots of people that think they did, and theres clear evidence to that fact) that they’re going to go after them. What? Would you rather just have them pardoned for their crimes like Nixon? I’m sure you’d feel differently if you were in Gitmo being tortured right now. (And yes, that’s one of the crimes he’s talking about going after… the Attorney General basically condoning and saying torture is legal, when it clearly isn’t.)
Or maybe you just like to see people gone after for lying about getting oral sex from interns? Clearly that’s far more important that lying about WMD, or torture, or yellow cake, or all the other things this administration has lied about. And clearly a blue dress is more important than the billions funneled out of our pockets via taxes and leveraged debt and into the pockets of corporate cronies, known better as war profiteers.
Woody, I think they went after Clinton for perjury, not for getting a BJ in the Oral Office. I’m pretty sure most men thought he was pretty cool for pullin that off.
I really would have liked it if they didn’t let Clinton slide on all those charges of rape though.
Oh, there’s another flagrant example hypocrisy by the NOw gals. They sided with Clinton over those poor women. It’s a good thing Clinton wasn’t raping women these days.
The NOW gals would have trashed those women something fierce!
Woody,
What I heard was a nutty angry man asking a stupid question and Joe Bi(nla)den (the human gaffe machine) throwing red meat.
I may disagree with Obama but I do not think he is stupid. Do you really think an Obama administration would waste its time in what would be a spectacular show trial that would divert all the attention of the administration and divide people in America like no other event in history over a ex president just to satisfy left wing nuts like Dennis Kucinich, Al Gore and you?
You could guarantee an army of lawyers on both sides arguing questions of immunity from government and political decisions. Terrorist getting subpoenaed to say the were tortured? Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame having to answer questions under oath? They wouldn’t even do it for their own grand jury witch hunt.
If you thought Clinton and a blue dress was a fiasco, you aint seen nothing yet.
