RICHard Dollinger Doesn’t Sign Fair Campaign Pledge?
The Democrat & Chronicle reported earlier today on the list of names read off by the League of Women Voters at their press conference of the candidates who signed the League’s Fair Campaign Pledge and unsurprisingly, one name in particular was not read off — Nasty Dirty Tricks Politician RICHard Dollinger.
We did some research to see if there could have been a mistake but we found out that candidates could either fax the signed pledge, mail it (postmarked this past Friday) or shown up in person to sign the pledge. It was reported that Assemblyman Joe Errigo sent three faxes of the signed pledge to make sure he was covered. The League knew that Assemblyman David Koon had not mailed or faxed his pledge, but was there in person to sign it (BTW, Koon’s opponent, Dave Bonnachi, signed the pledge). Basically, letting the League know you were supportive of fair and non-malicious campaigning was idiot proof. So either Dollinger chose to continue running his negative, mud-slinging campaign or he is an idiot.
Senator Jim Alesi signed the pledge and attended the press conference. No real shocker. He been called Gentleman Jim for years. His opponent signed, but didn’t bother to show up to support this effort. Cheryl Dinolfo signed and so did her opponent, Tommy Boy. You know, the guy who let identity thieves know where to go so they could steal people’s social security numbers. Assemblyman Bill Reilich signed the pledge and so did his opponent, although Dave may have some problems down the road unless he cleans up his act. And yes, you got it, Senator Joe Robach signed the pledge. No surprise here. Joe has always run clean campaigns, despite being attacked by some pretty pathetic opponents over the years. And now he faces perhaps the worst dirty politics campaigner out there, run away former state senator richy-rich Rick Dollinger. A flamboyant lawyer-politician whose well known for his lies and nasty political campaigns (more on that later in the race).
We didn’t think Dollinger would sign the pledge anyway. His campaign has been nothing but nasty lies and dirty politics just like those employed by his padron, disgraced former governor Eliot Spitzer. Dollinger’s paid hacks have been unscrupulous throughout this race.
Dollinger must have taken the lead of corrupt Assemblyman David Gantt. Gantt didn’t sign it either. Why? Well my friends, that’s for him to know and you to find out!
But we’re glad to learn that the League will rule on the type of dirty campaign directives used by RICHard Dollinger even though he didn’t sign the pledge.
What are those 6 Albany/NYC paid political campaign hacks doing letting Dollinger make such a foolish blunder?
I’m willing to bet after Dollinger gets called out by the press and those who know him for being a mean and nasty guy, that he’ll beg the League to accept a late submittal.
However, then Dollinger will have no choice but to start running a clean campaign. Tough decision for a guy like you, huh RICHard?

Here’s the pledge:
I will conduct my campaign honestly, openly and fairly.
I will discuss the issues and participate in fair public debate with respect to my views and qualifications.
I will not engage in, permit or condone defamatory attacks upon the character of my opponent(s); nor will I engage in invasions of personal privacy unrelated to campaign issues.
I will not use or permit use of any campaign material or advertisement which misrepresents, distorts, or otherwise falsifies the facts regarding my opponent(s).
I will refuse to disseminate any campaign material or message in which I am not prominently identified.
I will publicly repudiate support from any individual or group whose activities would violate this Fair Campaign Pledge.
Dollinger’s gonna have big problems with a number of these - - if he ever signs it.
There was some discussion of whether Mr. Dollinger signed or not on the left blog as well.
It appears the D&C just missed including his name; WXXI has him listed as signing:

Not that I expect this to change your opinion of him
Hello Villager:
From what I understand, the D&C reporter, Jill Terreri didn’t make the mistake like that blog said. We were told that the League read the names of those that responded and Dollinger’s wasn’t among them. I’m not that big of a fan of the D&C, but I can’t blame them or this reporter in this instance.
And it seems that the member of the League who read the names shouldn’t be blamed either (by that blog or anyone else) because that person must have compiled the list from all responses received by the appropriate deadline.
I honestly think Dollinger had no intention of signing due to the negtive campaign he’s already running, but succumbed to pressure from his party bosses. If he supported positive campaigning, he would have shown up for the signing event too.
Regardless, I hope that it is true that he signed and that he’ll start running a clean race. Sometimes hope is all we have.
PS - you’re right villager, there is no lie Dollinger can tell me that would change my mind about him.
I was listening to WXXI this morning they had both Robach and Dollinger on. Dollinger had not signed the pledge. I wish he would.
C’mon Dick, what’re you afraid of, a clean and fair campaign?
I hear your own local party isn’t even supporting you because of what you’ve done to many of your own over the years.
Well… besides Assemblyman Gantt, the most corrupt politician Rocheser has ever had the displeasure of electing to office. Gantt just loves others who are just like him.
