Joe Biden?

As a John McCain backer, I couldn’t be happier with the choice of Joe Biden for Barak Obama’s VP.  I don’t think he ads much to the ticket.  Obama would probably carry Delaware anyways.  McCain is already up with the following ad, which will further bring Barry’s Barack’s judgement into question.

  1. When I first heard that Biden was on the short list I thought it was some kind of head fake by team Obama. I thought about his plagiarism that killed Bidens 88 campaign, his gaffes, of convenience store owners and calling Obama articulate and how that was a racial slur. Then there is the fact Biden voted for the war, until it proved politically convenient to oppose it.

I was afraid Obama would do the smart thing and pick Hillary. Instead he said “Let’s advance change” by…..picking a guy who’s been in Washington almost as long as Obama has been alive? The Obama campaign reminds me more and more of Dukakis in 88. A man who had a huge lead and blew it. Then made a goofy choice of VP by picking Lloyd Benson, Dukakis lost big.

  2. I don’t entirely hate this choice. I’ve always been a fan of guys like Joe Biden and Chris Dodd. I think he’ll make a perfect VP nominee. As was seen in his address he hit McCain hard a couple of times. It’s a much better pick than Kaine or Bayh or Clinton or Rendell. Biden is the perfect guy for Obama. He can say things and do things that Obama could never do.

  3. I do not believe Biden was selected for his experience in Washington. More so, he was chosen because he will be both the attack dog against McCain so Obama can appear stately and he will distract the media from covering Obama’s inability to lead.

Remember, Biden was the guy who insulted Asian Indians with his crack about them only working at 7-11s.

Obama now has a shield to protect him.

  4. Anyone see the new McCain commercial about Clinton getting passed over? I just heard on Fox News that prominent Dems are all in a tizzy because Hillary didn’t call for the ad to be taken down (which is pretty standard when your imagine is used in the other party’s ad). Here’s the link.

  5. Biden was picked by Vladimir Putin! If it wasn’t for Russia attacking Georgia the pick would have been Kaine. Obama now desperately needs someone who can show that he is a world player and familiar with global affairs. If not he will get crushed by McCain. How else do you explain Obama picking a Washington insider who has been in the senate 10 years longer than McCain. Biden also voted for the war.

    So much for change

  6. Wow… someone picks a running mate that has strengths in areas they he has weaknesses. Theres a news stopper.

Isn’t that the point of a VP choice? It’s not supposed to be about what state they can carry or a statistical game of votes. It’s supposed to be someone that compliments the person running, that still has enough skill to run the nation if something happens to incapacitate the president. Someone that’s going to speak his mind and give his opinion, even if it doesn’t match what the standing president thinks.

I think Biden is a good choice. He has the long-term insider knowledge and standing, and also has clearly gone after things without pulling punches. With Bidens experience and Obamas insight, I think its a strong ticket.

Of course its a strong ticket I wouldnt be afraid at all of the Republicans, as Joe Biden once said, “We have nothing to fear but fear it self”.

We know he is a great American who inspires people, I remember when Biden said “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”. It just sent tingles up my spine.

Lets not forget his international skills, remember when he was at Brandenburg Gate and said “Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall” or did he say “ic bein berliner” at the gate??? Not sure

It seems like just a short while ago he came into the senate. I think he said it was two score minus seven years ago.

Yes he is a real good choice and will help out a lot, Republicans that is.
