Breaking News: Edwards Admits Sexual Affair; Lied as Presidential Candidate
John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extramarital affair with a novice filmmaker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.
In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 42-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.
Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter’s baby girl, Frances Quinn, although the one-time Democratic Presidential candidate said he has not taken a paternity test.
Edwards said he knew he was not the father based on timing of the baby’s birth on February 27, 2008. He said his affair ended too soon for him to have been the father.
A former campaign aide, Andrew Young, has said he was the father of the child.

Wow, what a great daddy. This little girl has so much to look forward to from Mr. Edwards.
This really hasn’t gotten any coverage. Edwards chose today to release it because its a friday and people will be preoccupied with the olympics.
Could you imagine if he were a Republican? NBC would break into their olympic coverage to to tell the story.

John Edwards is a despicable person. Up until this point I have just disagreed with him. I have never considered that someone is a bad person because they are liberal. Liberals are Americans and they have rights to say what they believe. Edwards has shown the ultimate low character to do this while his wife was standing by him with a fatal disease. Rielle Hunter is a despicable person as well. She knew full well of the situation with Edwards wife.
For the record I lost respect for Newt Gingrich. He did something similar and showed incredibly poor judgment during impeachment hearings. Gingrich has a good conservative mind, but poor character.
