Powers Goes After Davis For Petition Irregularities
Our good friend Jacksonsmiles accused monroerising.com of playing favorites in the Democratic fight for the 26th CD because we have been silent of the charges leveled by the Powers’ camp about Jack Davis’ petitions. Jackson buddy, we aren’t playing favorites — I didn’t see the allegations.
Here is a D&C Blog post about the subject:
Powers Camp Goes After Davis’ Petitions
Jonathan Powers’ congressional campaign and Niagara County Democratic Chairman Dan Rivera today asked for an investigation into Democratic challenger Jack Davis’ nominating petitions.Rivera wrote a letter to Niagara County District Attorney Michael Violante asking him to look into why a Davis staffer, Kelly Taylor, is listed as a signed witness to the petition, even though she didn’t allegedly witness the petitions being signed.
Davis’ opponents said they received nine affidavits from petition signers saying Taylor did not bring them the petition or witness their signature.
“Once again Jack Davis has shown he lacks the judgment to represent us in Congress,” said John Gerken, Powers spokesman. “The voters of the 26th district are sick of Washington’s fraud and bribery. They deserve a Congressman they can be proud of.”
Powers and Davis are running in a Democratic primary in the 26th District, which runs from the Buffalo suburbs to the Rochester suburbs.

Ooops, sorry Gerken, Rivera already said it’s not Jack Davis’ fault. It’s really the person who actually committed the alleged petition fraud that should be held accountable.
I know what you’re thinking right now.
“Crap! Jon! Rivera went south on us! I’ll check to see if Jack Davis gives contributions to Rivera’s committee. If so, we’re screwed!”
*thumbs through financial filing*
“Damn.”
Judging from the lack of comments, no one (even the infamous jacksonsmiles) cares about this story about Davis’ campaign.
Ya gotta give the people what they want. Apparently, the truth about Jon Powers’ lies and unethical activities is more interesting.
Oh well.
