Mysterious Disappearance - No Powers, No War Kids
Relief<http://realwarkidsrelief.blogspot.com/2008/08/mysterious-disappearance-no-powers-no.html>
Sorry for the delay in any new posts for a little while. Work called (darn bosses).

I have so far posted on various aspects of War Kids Relief, and unfortunately the Powers campaign has not decided to respond to questions that would clear up any of the issues surrounding War Kids Relief.

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t do this. This would make a fair amount of sense, and would discredit www.powersplatoon.com fairly quickly I would think.

Anyways my little fact for today is that it appears Jon Powers started at Vietnam Veterans of American Foundation (VVAF) sometime in 2005. However, like a year and half later any references to Powers on VVAF or any references to War Kids Relief were removed from the site. (See this site: http://www.vvaf.org/programs/war-kids-relief/)

I know other folks have touched on this, like Monroe Rising. Why wouldn’t Powers just come out and say the reasons for the removals? I would think that Powers has a very plausible answer for this.

Don’t believe me about the disappearance of references, follow these steps:

1) Go to www.archive.org
2) Type into the search bar: http://www.vvaf.org/programs/war-kids-relief/
3) Click search

Up comes 11 pages referencing War Kids Relief and VVAF. The last one is dated October 08, 2006. That seems a bit odd since Powers claimed to have run this organization up until last year.

Anyone have any thoughts?

  1. Hunting (for rumors) -

Again… did you call Mr Powers directly to ask these questions or post them on a random blog?

Why are you so facinated with War Kids and no other candidate or subject in the race?

Where is your blog for “realjackdavispetitions” to show the Niagara County Dem. Party calling for the DA to launch an investigation into the fact that Davis’s petitions are fraudulent and have been for the last three elections?

A guy tries to make a difference, doesn’t get the support he should and you slamhim. The real slam should be against people like you who didn’t do a d*mn thing for the kids in Iraq.

Powers did more than any other candidate for them, he did more than most of the bloggers who are against him. You are part of the reason the American society is in the shambles it is in, and Davis & Mullen are part of the reason the average American hates our political system.

I don’t hate our political system. Don’t hate anybody. Don’t think you are a Nazi or even a communist. You may have a lot of hate and that shows in your comments.

I very much disagree with Jon Powers, don’t like his energy policy. its too much like Pelosi’s. For the record I loved Jack Davis energy policy. It got me hugely discounted tank of gas. Beside telling me to buy a hybrid and wanting to increase taxes I don’t see what the dems are going to do.

It appears that Jon Jon didn’t do a damn thing for Iraqi kids either. These comments are all over the place and we hear nothing from Jon Jon. Somebody better tell him the primary is in 4 weeks and he needs to get this info out there, where people will see it. Maybe radio ads, mailers etc. Most people don’t read left wing blogs, or conservative ones for that matter.

  3. Mr. Jacksonsmiles. It now appears that what Mr. Powers did for the Iraqi children was use their situation to personally profit… to the tune of $77,000 per year.

Mr. Powers is a very bad man whose unethical deeds you really need to stop defending.

I read in the Buffalo News article that someone tried to get Mr. Powers to respond to allegations that are now known to be truth and he refused. So reaching out to him means nothing.

Maybe he fell prey to the power trip that engulfs political candidates or he succumbed to the lure of easy financial gain.
Either way, he really must now withdraw from this race.
