Chris Lee on Energy

Yesterday Congress left for summer vacation without passing a bill that will produce energy. I received this statement from Chris Lee with his position on energy. I believe it is right on. Chris Lee is a businessman who understands the importance of a sound energy policy, both on business and security. In the statement Chris mentions work right here in Western New York with a hydrogen fuel cell research center at Honeoye Falls and the ethanol plant in Orleans.

Chris Lee’s plan for energy highlights the need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by exploring for oil domestically which will secure our nation and ultimately drive down the price of gas for consumers in Western New York. Additionally, Lee also called for tax incentives for businesses and families that purchase more fuel efficient vehicles and improve their energy efficiency. Finally, Lee wants to expand research and development of American made alternative energies. Lee cited alternative energy production, research and development being done right here, in Western New York such as the hydrogen fuel cell research at Honeoye Falls and the ethanol plant in Orleans.

“The inability of Congress to deal with this energy crisis is hurting the hard working families of Western New York,” concluded Lee. “We can’t afford to let Congress sit back and do nothing to address our energy needs. It is time we get to work, it is time we bring to bear all the great things Western New Yorkers and all Americans can do to make our country energy independent.”

Thanks Chris its obvious you get it!

  1. 75% of Americans think we should drill
57% of Americans think we should do more Nuke
    Republicans agree with this

34% of Americans think we should reduce speed limits
11% of Americans think we should raise gas taxes to solve the problem
    Democrats agree with these positions

9% of Americans approve of the job congress is doing
    Democrats run congress

  2. This must be a good idea, Obama is just about ready to flip flop on it. Naturally he will nuance it and spin it to make it sound like its his idea and the republican aspects of it are wrong, but don’t be fooled this is an issue the republicans are right on. The Obama version will do something like come with a tax on the oil companies.

  3. so he photo copies Mr. Powers enegery proposal and you comend him… but slam Powers?

How does he feel about opening up ANWAR?

  4. Democrats may have a majority in Congress right now, but they’ve been handed down the problems of prior Congressional groups (democrat & republican alike)

  5. JS Maybe you know of a different energy policy for Jon Jon. The one on his website he mainly complains about oils companies, wants to tax them. slapping down speculators who operate in a free market (many of which loose big, but we never hear about them)

I see nothing about exploring for oil.

He also wants to force oil companies to install bio-fuel pumps at 25% of their stations. (thats socialism JS)

There is a lot more socialism on his site. If I missed where he wants to drill please point us to the link.

Quote franky Jon Jon sounds a lot like obama “Change that will socialize us”. sounds good to liberal lap dogs who hate what america is about, but really says nothing

  6. Sorry JS that’s a cop-out they left town doing nothing! They refused to debate or vote.

I looked at Powers position on his website and ExDemocrat is right, he sounds like Obama, says there is a problem and we need change. Then his solutions are small, demonizing oil companies, taxes and telling us all to drive Prius. I bet soon he will tell us to put air in our tires.

Attacking speculators is an mistake, they trade on future values. Commitment to drilling will take them out of the game. They will start hedging on the price going down.

  7. @deepthroat:

Stop lying. Why do you lie? The house and senate passed and engery reform bill in December, which Bush vetoed. Can’t help it if the Republicans are filibustering every other bill and their “leader” promises to veto the energy bill that was put together and passed in the house.

You want to blame someone? Blame Bush for vetoing the bill put together last December, and the Republican minority for using holds and filibustering to bring congress to a halt. I seem to recalls the Republicans screaming about that back in 2004 when they were talking about removing the rules on filibustering. Shame they didn’t really, since if they did it would have let this congress move on easier.
