MR Weekly Rant: Whoever Thinks Steve Minarik Is Going To Be The Interim MCC President…
…Is a complete and utter idiot.
We’re a little early with the Rant but this is so necessary.
First off, sorry for calling many of you liberal bloggers out there idiots, but for those of you saying this, you really are.
I can’t even come up with an eloquent way of explaining my point right now because this is so preposterous.
A number of Liberal Radical blogsites/blog posters out there living in crazy conspiracy theorist internet la la land are flooding the internet waves trying to convincedupe normal people into believing that County Executive Maggie Brooks requested Steve Minarik’s resignation as part of a political stunt, and has every intention of placing him in the role of interim president of Monroe Community College on Monday. As if this could even, ever happen without anyone on the planet ever finding out about it!
Because that is what it would take for her to not be crucified by the media, the college, the Democrat Party hacks and the Liberal Radical blogsites/blog posters in this area.
These very, very strange people are trying to make you and I think that on Friday, Maggie Brooks is praised for doing what no one else in this state had the brass ones to do… only to flush all that good will down the toilet by installing Steve Minarik as the interim MCC president — the most politically (Republican AND Democrat) charged issue we’ve seen out this way in a very long time.
This is not a shot at Steve Minarik. Even Democrat Party Boss/State Assemblyman Joe Morelle had good things to say about Minarik’s political career. Like him or not. Agree with his tactics, good and bad, or not. He won elections, which is what his job was to do. The Democrats went through something like 6 or 7 chairmen in 10 years because their leader could not create a message that resonated with county/city voters. Everyone, however, knows that putting Minarik in as interim president would be political suicide for Maggie Brooks.
Needless to say, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL Maggie Brooks leads the charge to make this happen.
So why do the Liberal Radicals make such an outlandish accusation?
Because they need something to viciously attack Maggie Brooks over now that Steve Minarik is gone. Watch, over the next several weeks you will read from the LRs all sorts of aggressive attacks on Brooks in an effort to deter from this bold, yet necessary move, by her and her alone. NO ONE else could have, or even tried to make this happen.
Do you think Bob Duffy will ask Joe Morelle to step down for not bringing Rochester state funding in line with Syracuse and Buffalo? Or for causing property taxes to increase throughout the entire county? Or for allowing illegal & lying campaign mailers and misleading robo-calls into this area? Or for letting David Gantt block the rebuilding of deteriorating Rochester schools? Or for not doing anything to prevent our city from having to raise property taxes?
I like Bob Duffy, but no way he straps them on to make this happen in the Democrat Party. Maggie Brooks is, and will always be, the only high level, local elected official to make such a change at the top rung on the political party ladder. Period.
I ask everyone from Joe & Jane Citizen to all of our local TV/print/radio outlets to not fall prey to these types of insane mumblings made obviously by people who can’t accept the fact that we have a strong professional woman leading our community.

Great post. In case you haven’t noticed, these people like to make stuff up — it provides material for them to write about — and show how important their role is in shedding sunshine on those big bad republicans.
It seems after all this time, with the Dems calling for Minarik’s resignation, when it happened, and at the request of the the County Executive, the Dems are making that funny cartoon sound of surprise, “Wha, Wha, Wha, What?” Typical disbelief on the part of Democrats that there are actual, Bona Fide, honest for goodness, Republicans. Go Maggie, Go!
jimq, your absolutley right, GO MAGGIE GO. The Liberal Radicals always believed that she was a puppet. Was she a puppet when she won her seat in 2003? Was she a puppet when she beat the Democratic candidate in 2007? Wait, the Democrats were too afraid of a strong woman to have someone even run against her. Now the Liberal Radicals believe thats she a puppet in Republican circles. Newsflash, shes a strong woman, and you all ain’t seen nothin’ yet
