First it was the illegal political attack piece mailed out by Dollinger’s NYC senate campaign team which we reported to you here. Not only was the mailpiece illegal because the campaign didn’t put a return address on it, but its accusation was intentionally misleading. Another attack mailer sent out previously that we’ve seen looked very similar to the illegal one, but included an address for the mailhouse Dollinger’s political team is using, but no name. We figured it out though.
We had also heard that there were some phone calls being made a few months ago also out of New York City that said Rochester City School funding was being sent to New York City. Kinda odd that the calls were from New York City though. Isn’t that where Dollinger’s senate political campaign committee is located? (That was rhetorical, of course it is.) They must have been referencing the $21 million in education cuts former disgraced Democrat Governor Eliot Spitzer was planning to take from our children’s schools. Had Joe Robach, Jim Alesi, Mike Nozzolio and George Maziarz not stopped Spitzer and the rest of the New York City Democrats, we really would have seen school tax increases this year go through the roof.
The latest Dollinger political dirty tricks employed by his campaign team are what are known as push-polling phone calls, whereby the caller gives you several negative statements about a person and then asks you if those negative statements would make you want to vote for him or her. Gee, why not just come out and call the people in Rochester stupid. Sorry, we’re aint as smarter asis you all high fallutin’ New Yalk City folksiz.
These types of calls are usually conducted when your own (Dollinger’s) polling numbers are so bad, or your opponent’s (Robach’s) are so good, (or in this case we believe both) that you need to try and personally attack and hurt your opponent. That’s what Dollinger’s team is doing here. It’s desperate, it’s dirty and it’s typical for what we expect we will be seeing from Dollinger’s campaign this year.
Once again, Dollinger either approved the use of these nasty political attack tactics or he’s allowing them to be done on his behalf by his NYC political campaign. He needs to stop all this nasty campaigning right now and really should denounce this garbage. Sadly, we strongly believe he’ll allow this to continue. People know enough about him now to know the type of person he is.
And regular voters are supposed to believe that because he gets some staged photos of him flipping a few hotdogs in his suit while quoting Shakespeare that he’s a man of the people. Yeah, right.
So we have illegal campaign mailers and now push-poll phone calls from Dollinger’s camp. He’s off to his typical start. Let’s not let Rick Dollinger get away with this junk. It’s time to start calling his campaign and letting them know we folks in Rochester don’t like his dirty tricks.
I don’t have Dollinger’s campaign phone number, but I’m pretty sure it’s starts with a 212 area code.
