John McCain: A leader ALL Americans can believe in

I’m new to this site, and I was perusing the archived postings and observed that Monroe Rising didn’t have any posts that spoke about John McCain. As the GOP’s next standard bearer I thought this was strange. I emailed Cincinnatus and alerted him to this fact and he told me to go ahead and write a post on John McCain.

I’m an Independent Rochester resident who has been utterly outraged and disgusted by the Democratic Party of the past year and a half. They took control of Congress and progress slowly grinded to a halt. They control 2/3 of New York State’s government and our standard of living is steadily decreasing. And then to boot, they take 6 months to nominate a presidential candidate and come to find out he’s a dyed in the wool socialist. All of these reasons are driving me closer and closer to understanding why Republicans are in power here in Monroe County. It also leads me to understand why many believe John McCain will be our next Commander in Chief; and to tell the truth, this Independent voter thinks so too.

For the first time in long while, Republicans have nominated a true moderate as the next leader of the party. In today’s increasingly global world, someone who still carries traditional American values but is willing to work with the party system is truly important. Not like how the Democratic Party nominating a gentleman who wishes to emulate the European philosophy of socialism. Americans are not ready for socialism. It goes against everything the American dream stands for. I’m hoping I never wake up from my “American dream.”

With the factions that make America great, a moderate is someone who will be able to tie all the parties in to better our great nation. Barack Obama only cares about catering to the needs of fellow Liberals. Some folks will say that McCain is too moderate and that conservatives won’t get behind him. I tend to disagree; I firmly believe conservatives and evangelicals will get behind McCain because they won’t allow Obama to win this election, and his moderation is a sign that he has self control, and isn’t merely a partisan hack.

John McCain’s record on the issues that concern America truly out class Barack Obama’s. The biggest concern for our nation now is National Security and Foreign Policy. McCain’s views on this will lead to the continued reign for America as the world’s greatest superpower. We are encountering threats that presidential predecessors had never dreamed of. His 26 years in Congress have showed him the way to deal with the nations that yearn for our destruction. As a Veteran and longtime member on the Senate Armed Forces Committee, John McCain has gained the knowledge that is necessary to be one of America’s greatest commanders. His time in Congress is over half of Barack Obama’s lifetime. There is no substitute of experience. Only through experience does a person know what is necessary and proper. Experience is necessary for change to occur. Change for the sake of change doesn’t solve anything.

Other people seem to be concerned about his health and age. I’m not. The man is 71 years old and healthier than me. The man’s mother is still alive for goodness sake. As a US Senator running for President, I’m sure he has had the opportunity to be checked out by some of the very best doctors in the country. When elected President, his personal physician will be a Navy Admiral or Army General. I highly doubt that those doctors would miss anything that would jeopardize his health. I also believe that a McCain presidency would be a one-term presidency. After 28 years of the only 4 men in office, America doesn’t need another autocrat in the White House. With Barack Obama, you better believe he’d be seeking a second term to continue socializing this nation.

As this election season carries on, I’m sure the Republican Party will rally behind John McCain. I’m also sure that Independents, like me, will rally around John McCain. This is the time for Americans to stand up and support an American leader; someone who will continue the fight for America’s greatness and continue safety and well being in this world. The Democrats will continue to spout off the same line about Obama and Change; change for the sake of change isn’t good. America needs change that will better it, not harm it. John McCain is a leader that ALL Americans can believe in. I know who I’m voting for November 4th for President.

  1. Welcome aboard El Guapo,

You are 100% right, we need someone writing about this great American Man. Please come back and post regularly. This is a great forum, Cincinnatus is a true believer in free speech.

Please feel free to add the http://www.JohnMcCain.com website footer as well

  2. El Guapo

    When you say

Not like how the Democratic Party nominating a gentleman who wishes to emulate the European philosophy of socialism. Americans are not ready for socialism.

Its interesting because the Europeans are giving up on socialism. Just this week the Irish rejected the EU saying this:

Irish voters’ deepest fears about the EU many people feel the Union is remote, undemocratic and ever more inclined to strip its smaller members of the right to make their own laws and decide their own futures.

  3. I too consider myself a moderate. I believe in a strong defense, I am also opposed to abortion. I think we should keep spending in check, I also think that we need fair taxes. For the record I think they are fair right now. We had a lot of good years. Any economy has its bad spots, All presidents had them. Overall we have had a good economic run for a long time under the last four presidents. I see John McCain proposing what is the best of each of those times. But you would never know it by reading the very left media. Just look around at where you are and ask how are my neighbors doing? How is my Family doing? You will see its not as bad as the media will have us believe.

  4. El Guapo? If my rusty Spanish is correct it means “The Handsome One”. Glad you decided to post, we need a voice on Senator McCain. The more people understand him the more they will like him. Obama claims to be a person who can work with everyone, however the facts dont bear that out. John McCain has worked with everyone often at the risk of criticism from both sides. It now appears he was correct on the surge. The media does not want to report that.

  5. john mccain is really the only answer for us. god forbid, barack hussien obama wins the white house and the state goes under control of democrats, were all screwed. i see him as being a moderate who can appeal to the large base of american independants. im sure as the campaign gets deeper into the summer and fall, americans will respect mccain for all works hes done for americans and will continue to do in the white house

  6. Welcome to Monroe Rising El Guapo. I’m glad somewhere has finally focused on John McCain’s credentials for President and why he is a better candidate then Barack Hussein Obama. Keep up the good work.

  7. Thank you everyone for your warm welcomes. When I post in the future, I’ll do my darndest to carry on the good job the everyone else here does.
