Friends, I was looking for news today and I stopped at MSNBC.com for the news of the day. On their site, the banner headline was Clinton to say Obama has enough delegates. In this article it states that the Honorable Senator for New York will, in her speech this evening, concede that the Senator from Cook County Illinois will have enough delegates to secure the nomination. She will not formally end her bid so that she can retain some influence within the process, but she will however lay off her staff.
This confuses me because I had heard as recently as last night that she had been spouting off that while Obama may have the lead in delegates, she is leading the popular vote. I don’t know how she can end her bid while the will of the people is so obviously in her favor. It was obvious by the shows of support at national and local Democratic events that many Dems still want her to be their standard bearer.
This is another example of the Democratic Party not representing the interests of the party faithful. The people of this nation who are members of this party have cast the majority of the votes in favor of Hilary Clinton. The DNC is depriving those voters of their elected nominee. Once again, the Democratic Party is promoting an elitist Ivy League snob who doesn’t care about the wishes of the common man.
While I feel for the people who sought Hillary but had their wishes expunged by the Democratic National Committee, she is partially to blame. She’s so desperate to stay relevant that she will sacrifice her supporters so that she can play second banana to Barack Hussein Obama and hope that he asks her to be on the ticket as the #2. She doesn’t care about the people; she cares about herself. That’s why she stayed with her husband, that’s why she moved to New York, that’s why she ran for President. She did it all for Hillary; not for the people.
When the carpetbagger returns to New York tonight it will most likely be the end of her 2008 presidential ambitions but I highly doubt it will be the last time we hear from her before November. The Democratic Party says they want unity but with these two lightweights in the ring, I highly doubt the party could come together to even make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
