Michelle Obama a Black Separatist?

Recently Barack Obama has told people to lay off his wife. He has good reason for it other than chivalry. Evidence is now coming out that Michelle Obama (formerly Michelle Robinson) is a black separatist in much the style of 60’s Black Panther radical Stokely Carmichael

While at Princeton she wrote her thesis on just this subject. The thesis is very difficult to read and at much times seems like gibberish, however the main idea comes across. Christopher Hitchens has written an excellent post on Frontpage magazine about it:

Michelle Obama announces that she’s much influenced by the definition of black “separationism” offered by Stokely Carmichael and Charles Hamilton in their 1967 screed Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America. I remember poor Stokely Carmichael quite well. After a hideous series of political and personal fiascos, he fled to Africa, renamed himself Kwame Toure after two of West Africa’s most repellently failed dictators, and then came briefly back to the United States before electing to die in exile. I last saw him as the warm-up speaker for Louis Farrakhan in Madison Square Garden in 1985, on the evening when Farrakhan made himself famous by warning Jews, “You can’t say ‘Never Again’ to God, because when he puts you in the ovens, you’re there forever.”

There is another item on this subject that I came across while listening to the John Batchelor Show on WABC Radio. During the show Larry Johnson of No Quarter Blog claims that there is a video tape in the hands of Republicans that shows Michelle Obama on an Anti White screaming rant that will chill many people to their souls. Could this be the October surprise that Hillary is warning the super delegates about?

Hopefully The Last Post On Assemblyman David Gantt and The Public Defender Fiasco

After a busy Memorial Day weekend, I’m back on duty.  My in-laws finally left — I love them but Benjamin Franklin was right when he said that fish and house guest begin to stink after 3 days.

Saturday’s Democrat and Chronicle had a story about the Uncivilly Disobedient 3, 1960’s style protesters David Gantt, Franklin Florence and Raymond Scott, being cleared of charges stemming from their disgraceful conduct regarding the Public Defender selection.  According to the paper:

Canandaigua City Court Judge Stephen D. Aronson, presiding over the arraignment in Rochester City Court on Friday, ruled that Gantt, Scott and Florence “acted in good will, intention and purpose” during a protest Feb. 9 in the Monroe County Legislature chambers over the process of naming a new county public defender.

In dismissing the charges, Aronson said the defendants “appear to be persons of good character” and fought against what “they felt was nothing short of a cultural disenfranchisement. … They felt they were being excluded from the process.” [Read more →]

An Inappropriate Display At The Greece Memorial Day Parade By Jon Powers?

I received the following e-mail today and am posting it verbatim in its entirety.  It pretty much speaks for itself.

To whom it may concern at Monroerising.com:

I know you people are the only ones who will allow this to be shared with the public.  Please feel free to use this on your website.

Yesterday, I attended the Greece Memorial Day parade and ceremony that followed.  Out of respect for those that served and died for our freedoms, I wanted to wait until today to write to you about something I witnessed that upset me, and those watching the parade around me, greatly.

You see, Memorial Day has a very special meaning to me.  Like many, I too had several family members whose names now appear on the Town of Greece Memorial wall.  The parade serves as a wonderful acknowledgement of our veterans who are still with us.  It warmed my heart to see the young parents of the young children around us ask them to stand up and applaud our vets as they walked by.  I expect that many of those parents were explaining the meaning of Memorial Day and why it’s more than a day off from school and family barbecues.  And the ceremony that follows was appropriately somber as officials read the names of our fallen heroes.

Also participating in these events are our elected officials and candidates running for office.  I’ll grant that they have a place here on this day too since our democracy and our freedoms were not only crafted through war, but also through the efforts of those who serve in our government passing laws that protect us and keep us safe.

However, these people know to keep their participation low key and to not overshadow the true meaning behind the day.  All acted accordingly, except for one political candidate running for office.  26th Congressional candidate, Jon Powers. [Read more →]

Why Don’t We Have “Big Farm” as a Villian?

With the Memorial day holiday past us, my family had our traditional barbecue. We did it right in the back yard so the gas it costs to drive somewhere did not hurt. What causes pain is that the cost of food has gone sky high. It is easy to say “Well the gas prices have effected food”, they need energy to produce and transport the food. However there is a pork barrel (figuratively not my family famous ribs) bill in congress that is the absolute worst earmark this nation has ever seen.

This bill is a $289 billion pig fest. The Republicans have forgotten the core values of fiscal responsibility and duty to the taxpayer when they voted this bill out of Congress. The Democrats are buying farm state votes and believe in socialism.

When farm subsidies were created in the 1930s, Secretary of Agriculture Henry Wallace called them “a temporary solution to deal with an emergency.” That emergency was collapsing small farm incomes affecting the 25 percent of the population living on farms producing food at that time.

Who are the taxpayers subsidizing? Not the family mom and pop farmers struggling to stay on the land. The recipients of this bill are millionaire commercial farmers who report an average income of $200,000 and a net worth of nearly $2 million. President Bush proposed limiting farm subsidies to those earning less than $200,000 a year, but that was rejected.

Republicans have blown a big opportunity here to go back to their base and show they are fiscally responsible small government lawmakers. This was a perfect opportunity — unfortunately, they will not have many more chances.

Hillary’s Latest Slip Up — After What Happened to Bobby Kennedy in 1968, She Needs to Stay in The Race

I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to run for President. There must really be something wrong with you if you decide to go down that road. The time away from family and your normal life. The constant media scrutiny and the grind of being on the road and begging people for money.

It’s finally gotten to Hillary Clinton. Did you see what she said in South Dakota? Take a look:

So on Friday in South Dakota, Hillary, before a newspaper editorial board, defended staying in the race by pointing out, “My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right?” she said. “We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.”

I’m surprised there hasn’t been more of a flap over this. I realize she’s exhausted but come on! This one is inexcusable.

Maxine Waters Reveals Liberalism is Socialism

Maxine Waters gaffed during a house hearing on energy that Liberals are Socialists. While chastising the oil execs she said “This Liberal we be all about Socializing, er….. gaffe… er.. Basically we will take over your company”. She caught herself when she simply stated that she wants the government to take control of the oil companies. Which was another gaffe because thats exactly what Socialism is. I am in a tight spot because the entertainment factor of Congresswoman Waters (D) California is a great laugh. But the substance of what she says is scary.

Maggie Brooks And The FAIR Plan Helped Keep Our School Taxes Lower Than Usual

Gentle Reader:

Every school budget passed in Monroe County passed last Tuesday.  A couple out in the boonies were rejected — but all in all a good year for the school districts.  I’ve seen liberal special interest groups — teachers unions for one, point to the high school budget passing rate across NYS as proof that there doesn’t need a cap on school district spending.

Monroe County’s success rate says just the opposite to me.  This year’s school tax increases are among the lowest I can ever remember.  Remember late last year when all the interest groups had public meetings crying out against Maggie Brooks and the FAIR Plan?  Why would Republicans do this to the children?  They estimated tax rate increases in the range of 7%.

This year’s lower than usual tax increases are attributable to Maggie Brooks.  She did taxpayers a hugh favor with the FAIR Plan — even if the county is unsuccessful in its appeal of the last court decision. How could school districts across Monroe County lose $29 million in revenue and keep their tax increases lower than they have ever been?

In my home town of Pittsford, our schools budget went up by 3.3%.  Considering energy cost increases, employee benefit increases, contractual salary obligations (which usually are about 150% of the inflation rate), and the loss of their share of county sales tax money how in the world did they do that?

The simple answer is there was fat in their budget. Thanks to Maggie Brooks for looking out for the people who pay the bills.

A Monroerising.com Exclusive — Democratic Legislator Carrie Andrews Is Dating A Former High Ranking Member Of The Brooks Administration

A large part of our success at Monroerising.com is the tips we receive from our readers. We received an e-mail earlier this week regarding Democratic County legislator Carrie Andrews attending last week’s Monroe County Conservative Party’s annual dinner with — are you ready for this — with former Monroe County Controller Scott Adair.

I’m not sure which is the bigger story — the fact that she attended the Conservative Party Dinner — or the fact that she is dating a Republican. Adair, who is also the brother of Republican Legislature Vice President Jeff Adair, left his position with the county earlier this year.

We’ve all heard that politics makes strange bedfellows, but this is quite a story.

We Consume More Because We Produce More

Senator Obama recently said this:

We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,”

On its face this sound like a reasonable statement. The problem with this thinking is that it does not take into account what we do with the energy. We produce goods and services that feed and provide for the world. Ask yourself where is the energy being used? Look at the buildings we work in and how we get there. Look around at work, you have lights, computers, heat or air conditioning. What does your company produce or what service does it provide? You are most likely proud of your contribution to society. Of course conserve where you can, but draw the line when it means production goes down.

Now look at the third world nations that Mr. Obama will have us believe we are cheating. If we turn the air conditioning or computers off will it make someone in Darfur better off? The answer is no. If you do not eat another hamburger nor drink another bottle of water will someone in Myanmar be less thirsty or hungry? The answer to that is no as well. Their government is currently allowing their people to die as a result of a cyclone.

So what will the heat or air conditioning or energy do for us? It will make us more productive, providing a need to someone else in the world. If you disagree with that turn off the lights and computer, turn the heat/air conditioning off, go home and put an extra sweater on and eat a bowl of cereal for dinner. Keep it up long enough and when the people who produce the bowl of cereal do the same, you can be as hungry and poor as people in Somalia. If he is elected, I’d bet Barack Obama will be in the White house with the thermostat set at 72 enjoying Salmon Croquette’s and his favorite trendy Arugula at a State Diner.
