Jack Davis 3, Jon Powers 0
A reader sent us a copy of Jack Davis’ third mailing, which hit mailboxes on the Friday before Memorial Day. He really played up the veteran’s connection — and the fact that he is the only Democrat supporting an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
I’ve never heard of a candidate sending campaign mail out before Memorial Day — Labor Day is the start of most campaigns. Jack Davis sending out three before Memorial Day is unbelievable. Many people made the mistake of thinking Jon Powers had this primary election wrapped up — but Davis is going to spend whatever it takes to get his message out (bring the troops home now!) to Democratic voters.
Powers better get his campaign moving. All the post on Rochesterturning.com about the grassroots efforts is great, but pounding every Democrat’s mail box is going to make Davis a very formidable candidate.

well, there’s kinda the point right there. everyone got all upset about powers acting bad in your parade, but it looks like this davis guy is gonna win anyway. im not a active politcal person, but don’t you think it makes sense that the person with the better campaign operation is gonna win? just curious.
either way, it looks like a democrat is gonna win this year. right now, probably davis. personally, the dems should really let one of the women run. we need more women in office.
I’m sorry, but Jon Powers is a terrible candidate. Using the fact that he’s a vet to exploit memorial ceremonies and supposedly lying about his non-profit organization.
At least we know where Jack Davis stands on the issues. Even if I don’t agree with everything. Powers just makes speeches and makes promises. No substance. Just empty rhetoric.
I also agree with someone’s earlier post. Why aren’t the Democrats supporting any female candidates this year? They’ve got all white men running against the republicans.
That’s not very progressive.
