‘Communist Band’ Opened For Obama In Oregon
A rock band that begins each concert with the Soviet national anthem and communist inspired lyics, took the stage for Barack Obama in front of a record setting crowd of over 75,000 people. The way the media reported the event, it looked like all of these people showed up just to see Obama. Actually, a rock group named the ‘Decemberists‘, a Portland-based band with a large local following, drew the crowd.
The term ‘Decemberist’ refers to an uprising in St. Petersburg on Dec 14, 1825 when a group of Russian army officials led about 3,000 soldiers in protest as Nicholas I took the throne.
Obama just has too many flaws to be elected President. The more the American public learns about him, the more we all realize exactly what his intentions and beliefs truly are. The whole Rev. Wright affiliation, his ties with William Ayers; the unrepentant terrorist of the group the Weather underground. Remember, this is the same group that waged war against the U.S. government in the 1970’s. They bombed targets across the country in which they believed were symbols of the real violence the U.S was spreading throughout the world. Bill Ayers was then quoted as saying ” I don’t regret setting the bombs” and “I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Between both of those question marks, and now the newest with the ‘Decemberists’, how can anyone in this nation feel he is what this country needs for President? Obama’s entire campaign is based around change. Exactly what kind of change is he aiming for?

I am glad that someone wrote something on this. I heard this almost a week after it happened. I could not find anything about it. I have also heard the concert crowd was actually close to 100k people but many left after the concert. I could imagine if John McCain spoke after a NASCAR event. The story would be “Big Crowd comes out for popular event, A few stay to listen to McCain”. Just another example of how the media is in the tank for Obama.
Wait a minute. The media and Democrats have been reporting and posting all over how amazing it is that Obama draws tens of thousands of followers to his speeches.
Is this just another Democrat staged lie? Wow. Shocking.

Good post Sherman. Maybe Joe Morelle should have scheduled the Decembrists to play here so Howard Dean would have had more than just a few people attend his speech.
Wow.. why do you all hate democrats so much? Really? Not for anything, but are you so cynical that you really think it would be hard for a motivational speaker to bring out 75K people for a free public event?
The largest performance the band had before this was in Chicago, with about 10K people tops. That was also a free performance at a park. So a band thats barely brought in 10K in Chicago with weeks of press ahead of time can draw 75K when they’re not even mentioned by name as a lead to a political rally in Seattle? I’m in the wrong business…

I could probably ask you why do you hate Republicans? There sure is enough hatred of the President to distort everything he does and shade everything that is happening in Iraq. That link you created to pitchfork media is not exactly a love fest about all of humanity including Republicans.
I would like to see honesty and facts from the media. It would have been correct for the media to say that Obama spoke at a free concert that was put on by a very popular local band. It would have also been factual to say that this band often plays the ex-Soviet Anthem at its concerts.
An Editorial position would be to add that this happened is an area of the country that has very left/socialist leanings, not the mid west Chicago area. An area of the country that has tried to pass laws like assisted suicide and legalization of drugs. How many editorials do we have to hear about states like Texas, West Virginia and Kentucky that are basically toothless racists.
Instead of being in the bag for Obama and trying to deceive people into thinking that 75k people had show up for a 20 minute political speech by him. Just give the facts and let the people decide. I think if that happens Obama is sunk. But it will not happen so we need to depend on media like blogging and talk radio.

2)No not at all. Tony Robbins is a motivational speaker who could draw a crowd like that. Barak Obama is a politician outside of the political mainstream — this will be well know by November and President McCain will end up with Reagan like numbers (if you are old enough, you probably hated him to)

Again, as I said to you in another post. You are simply using a typical tactic when one cannot continue with debate.
I don’t HATE democrats or you for that matter. I DISAGREE with them and you on things.
I have not accused you of hatred. Do not ever accuse me of it.
