Jack Davis Stakes Out Position As Only Anti-War Candidate in Democratic Congressional Primary

Have you seen this? A reader sent us this Jack Davis mailing — he claims he is the only Democrat running for Congress who has pledged to pull out of Iraq immediately. If that is the case, I think it changes the whole dynamic of the primary.  I thought Powers would have an advantage — youthful, grassroots, veteran, etc.

But this changes everything.  If Davis is calling for an immediate withdrawl in Iraq and Powers doesn’t, I’d give Davis an advantage in the primary.  Think about it.  Both Davis and Powers are veterans and are well funded.  Davis has an advantage in his stand on the war, he has a wife, family, kids and grandkids (I don’t think Powers is married — I haven’t seen much on his personal life), and Davis is a successful businessman and Powers is a former substitute teacher who used campaign funds to pay his rent.  Powers other claim to fame is working on a charity that doesn’t appear to be around anymore.

This is going to be an interesting race.  I think Jack Davis is going to make it very competetive.  I also  like his new “flip” hairstyle.  It makes him look younger and friendlier than his old one.
