Is The Democrat and Chronicle Finally Getting It? They’re Worried About What Will Happen to Upstate If Dems Take Senate
Yesterday’s D&C had a very interesting editorial about Governor Patterson’s plan to eliminate the position of Upstate Economic Development Czar Dan Gunderson’s job. Paterson is showing his NYC bias by listening to downstate interests who feel there should be one economic development leader for the entire state.
The editorial stated:
As Paterson correctly surmised during a visit to Batavia earlier this week, the negative reaction to his intent to take away Dan Gundersen’s authority is based on fear.
People in this region have grown accustomed to being treated by Albany like second-class citizens.
(snip)
They’re fearful about what the future may hold.
Is this a precursor to downstate overshadowing upstate interests all over again?
And what if the Democrats take over the Senate, where Paterson served as minority leader? After all, with Republicans controlling the Senate, upstate was virtually guaranteed a fair shot at least in one legislative chamber.
What!? Is the D&C saying a Republican Senate is more likily to stick up for upstate? Wow! I think our efforts here at Monroerising.com are finally starting to payoff.

I want to think it’s because they are reporting on the facts. It’s probably because of self interest, as their readers think what they write is not in line with the facts, they cancel their subscriptions and look to places like this for facts.
I’ll admit that I give the Democrat & Chronicle credit for reporting what will happen if we allow one party to take over our state. Libera/Progressive special interests are willing to sell us out to New York City in order to get their political agenda passed in Albany.
And when our schools, small businesses, community groups, hospitals, employers, police and fire departments, and most importantly, we the the taxpayers, suffer as a result, it will be too late.
The time for working to prevent this is now.
I wonder how much more of his hair Shelly will pull out if the senate flips and he goes from being one of three guys in a room to not even having a chair in the governors mansion, if david paterson is running the ENTIRE show i cant see shelly and malcom smith sitting there dwidling their thumbs and the guv dictates. we could expect a cute lil liberal catfight in the sandbox…..they may even hector each other
