Gov. Paterson to Pull Plug on Upstate Economic Development Czar
Apparently, everything is all hunky dory with the Upstate Economy and we’re doing just fine now.
Gannett’s Joseph Spector wrote several pieces about Governor David Paterson’s intention to eliminate Upstate New York’s Economic Development point-man, Dan Gunderson. Here’s his original article.
Both Dennis Mullen of the Greater Rochester Enterprise and Sandy Parker of the Rochester Business Alliance have come out against Paterson’s elimination of the position which puts an Upstate focus on economic development issues in New York State. Upstate elected officials are opposing the move too.
In essence, Upstate NY (and Rochester) stands to lose our seat at the adult’s table because our New York City Governor doesn’t believe we have an economic problem north of Manhattan.
Just one more reason to vote for Senators Joe Robach, Jim Alesi, George Maziarz and Mike Nozzolio so we don’t hand the entire state over to the New York City political machine.
Local Businesses, School Districts, the City of Rochester, Monroe County, area community groups, etc. will lose out if this happens. But all of our Liberal/Progressives will be happy because even though local employers and us working men and women will suffer, we’ll have gay marriage and clean elections. Not a bad trade according to them.
Oh boy, I can’t wait!

Some people buy into the Liberal/Progressive lip service calling for ‘change.’
What those people need to ask before they sign over their souls (and their paychecks) is, ‘change to what?”
Eliot Spitzer promised change.
At the time, no one knew that meant making NY the laughing stock of the entire nation and beyond.
