Why Would The D&C Only Interview Fellow Democrats to Comment On A Democrat’s Misuse of State Funds?

State employee Dan Gunderson was very lucky that the Democrat and Chronicle broke the story on his misuse of state taxpayers dollars to feed him and his friends at some fancy schmancy restaurants.  Poor Danny Boy is only paid $187,000 by us “rich” lower/middle class taxpayers.  Had this been a story written by the New York Posts’s Fred Dicker, it probably would have been more thorough and fairly written.

It’s comical to see that the only people Jay Gallagher sought out for comment on this story were a spokesperson from DEMOCRAT Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, who said that “… it’s not clear if these expenses violate state guidelines.”  Really? That ENTIRE state department is UNCLEAR?

And, Barbara Bartoletti from the blatantly DEMOCRAT leaning League of Women Voters who said, “In these trying economic times, I think taxpayers would be better served if business leaders who are interested in economic development were footing the bill rather than the taxpayers.”  Wow Barb, as the director of a supposed “good government group” way to really go after this theft of tax money!

And to top it all off, former employee of DEMOCRAT Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Blair Horner, who is back running the DEMOCRAT supportive New York Public Interest Research Group, “… pointed out that the relatively small amounts of money involved “in a normal year wouldn’t rise to the level of taxpayer abuse.”  Weak Blair, very weak.

This one is my favorite.  Not only was Blair paid around $175,000 of our taxdollars to work for the democrats, he’s back working for NYPIRG which is shockingly funded by the State University of New York education system, which is (wait for it) funded by our taxdollars!!!

So, according to Blair Horner, if you’re gonna steal state taxpayer funds make sure you do it in smaller amounts because that’s really not that big of a deal “…in a normal year…”  What the hell does that mean?  How about ANY year is a bad year to steal our taxdollars!

What I missed was Gallagher’s interviews with one single Republican official.  See, if a Republican gets in trouble, the media will pretty much ONLY go to Democrats for a response.

It must be nice for the the Democrats to know that if they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar, the media will only interview the foxes who are guarding the hen house.

  1. This is typical of the Democrat and Chronicle and Jay Gallagher. At least Joseph Spector’s article about state grants was fair by including both state houses and both political parties.

Dan Gunderson makes more than enough money to foot his own bills. Treating his staff to a free dinner on the taxpayer’s dime is bunk. Unlike A.G. Cuomo’s entire staff, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it is clear that this is inapprpriate.

Democrats don’t deserve a free pass on this one. Don’t give it to them Mr. Gallagher.

  2. Obviously a rhetorical question. The D&C should change there name to the DNC.
