Is Barack Obama Ready for the Top Job? Will Hillary Clinton Steal the Primary Election?
Even though I’m voting for John McCain (I just can’t bring myself to vote for Socialism in this country) I was however very impressed with Barack Obama’s speaking ability. When he has some momentum, his speeches are uplifting and you are actually glued to your seat listening to him. However, when he hits a bump in the road, like when the Hillary political machine attacks him for a misspeak or with the Reverend Wright issue constantly looming over his head, Obama gets really thrown off his game. He stammers with his response and it takes some time for him to get back on track. My concern is that if he’s elected President, he won’t have the luxury of taking time to compose himself when he hits the daily bumps in the road as Commander in Chief. As Bill Clinton and George Bush found out, the leader of the free world has to be able to react immediately and with confidence and decisiveness.
Maybe Obama should have gained a few more years of experience before making this move.
On another note, if the video of Wright giving his hate filled sermon came out during the general election, instead of the Democratic primary, the media would be sympathizing with Obama right now instead of forcing him to respond to it time and time again. We’d be inundated with daily news reports on how the evil Republicans need to separate Wright from Obama and that Obama should not be held accountable for Wright’s comments.
But, since it’s most likely the Hillary political attack machine driving this story, it grows legs, will haunt Obama throughout the primary and will help Hillary steal the primary election from Obama using the super delegates.
Why would Democrats allow the political party elite decide who their candidate will be instead of the common voters? Doesn’t this send the message that Democrat leaders really don’t care about what the everyday folks are thinking or what they want?
In the end, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Political Machine will steal the primary election from Obama. It’s a done deal and a forgone conclusion. Just watch.

Mr. Peabody,
Good to hear from you again. Was wondering what happened to you?
The problem for Obama is that Politics does not change. Its the same as it was in 1787. We are going to have people with intense ambition, who are willing to do what it takes to win. (in other words Hillary). Obama being an untested rookie as you pointed out was starting to believe his own press. He thought he was unstoppable.
By the way when Hillary wins the party nomination the media will not be calling it stealing. They will admire her for it like they admired her husband (Mr. Clinton) when he snookered the American people.
Look at the title; Is OBM ready?, that’s been covered already, let us cede our taxing autority to the UN (Global Poverty Act (S.2433), Is Bush 43 going to sign it? Can OBM sign it, if he wrote it , next year? Is Herr Hillary going to step on OBM? Isn’t that her campaign job?
Thanks bullwinkle. Some pesonnel changes at work resulted in my picking up some additional morning/evening/weekend responsibilities, but things are settling down now and it’s good to be back.
jimq: I agree that many people have pointed out that Obama’s rookie status has many people questioning if he’s ready for primetime. My point that I haven’t really heard people talking about is how easily he’s thrown off his game when he’s forced to deal with issues he’d prefer not to discuss. I’ve seen more seasoned officials handle these types of speed bumps much better, allowing them to move on and remain on message.
This calls into question whether he can handle a job where this will occur on a very regular basis, whether it be with his political opponents in Washington or with world leaders who disagree with his policies. You’re really not granted a learning curve or allowed much forgiveness for screwing up.
As far as Hillary Clinton stealing the primary election, I would say that all of those popular voters across the country are going to be very angry when the Democratic superdelegates, comprised of the political party elite and power brokers, go against their wishes.
The Democratic party primary process is set up in a way to allow the party leaders and bosses to pick the candidate if there is not a “decisive” winner, even though there may be a clear winner in the eyes of the voters.
In this instance, the Republican’s “winner-take-all” process works better for them. McCain was named the winner a while back and now he’s able to secure his base, garner support from independents and not participate in destructive attack smear politics like the Dems are right now which will fraction the party even further when the leadership of the party that professes to be the party of minorities effectively pushes them aside to place their own hand picked party machine candidate in the winner’s circle. Despite the will and wishes of the party’s voters.
I understand that Hillary Clinton wants to steal the primary win from Barack Obama, but is this really something that should be supported by the party leadership?
I’m not intimating that you support their process and I agree that I’m not writing something that everybody doesn’t already know, but even I, a McCain supporter, can’t believe the National Democratic Party is handling this so poorly.
I never would have believed the Democratic party would have turned their backs on African Americans so blatantly.
