Lee On Track For Republican Congressional Nomination
Chris Lee appears to be in line for the designation as the Republican candidate to replace Congressman Tom Reynolds. According to yesterday’s Buffalo News:
Businessman Christopher J. Lee is on track for the GOP endorsement to succeed incumbent Republican Thomas M. Reynolds in the House of Representatives, but other candidates are keeping their efforts very much alive as they lobby party leaders for their support.
Republican leaders will be meeting soon to decide on a candidate. It was interesting to note that David Bellavia hasn’t learned anything since his gaffe introducing John McCain — when he compared Barack Obama to Tiger Woods. Take a look at what he had to say about the Republican Chairman he should be trying to impress:
One potential development, however, revolves around David Bellavia, an author and Iraq War veteran who enjoys support of some committee members in his home turf of Genesee and Orleans counties. Brown acknowledged that any of the chairmen who encounter serious opposition to the Lee endorsement could change their vote Monday.
As a result, support for Bellavia also could alter the outcome.
Bellavia, meanwhile, expressed disappointment in the process so far.
“There have been chairmen in this process who have not acted in good faith,” Bellavia said Tuesday. “I have jumped through every hoop, and the bar has been moved multiple times.”
People aren’t impressed with you so you accuse them of acting in bad faith? Come on — that’s crazy! As we have said previous, politics is a tough business and it isn’t for everyone. Bellavia continues to prove he isn’t ready for prime time. Hopefully he will step aside gracefully, when Lee or someone else receives the Republican designation.

Congress is a big first step in politics.
I respect very much Mr. Bellavia and Mr. Powers service to their countries. However it is sad to see what happens when someones ego makes then try right away for such a high oiffice. Maybe the gentlemen from both parties should start by running at local levels such as council and legislatures. They are tough enough as it is.
Jon Powers has some major questions to answer about his supposed war kids relief not for profit that no one can prove actually exists or whether he took a salary from the organization until the money ran out. Any stats on how many kids were helped by the organization?
Kudos to Monroerising for bringing this issue to light. No way anyone would read anything about this in the local fishwrapper.
Between this and his illegal use of campaign funds to pay his mortgage, Powers may himself help keep this seat in GOP hands.
It’s obvious since so many republicans have been clamoring to be the nominee.
