How I Scored the Debate
Hillary and Barack debated for the votes of Pennsylvanians last night. It was a real yawner and we learned nothing except that ABC news is incompetent as debate moderators. The first 50 minutes were a rehash of gossip that would make a supermarket tabloid jealous. Here is a time line synopsis of the questions and how I scored it.
8:00 Charlie Gibson asks a ridiculous open question. Would either be the others VP? He waits for a response. Surprised when no one answers, and not realizing he is the moderator whose job it is to decide who speaks and in what order, he quips “Well don’t everyone speak at once!” Score -1 ABC News.
8:04 WHAT? A COMMERCIAL ALREADY! Now we know why ABC did a prime time debate. Score -1 ABC News
8:05 Questions about Obama’s clinging to religion and guns comments. Score +1 Hillary
8:10 Hillary Dodging sniper fire that never happened. Score +1 Obama
8:20 The Reverend Wright and why Obama still loves him. Score +1 Hillary
8:30 Weather Underground, a domestic terrorist group and Obama’s friendship William Ayers who bombed the pentagon. I thought this would be a point for Hillary but Obama retorted well with the fact that her husband (Mr. Clinton) paroled Susan Rosenberg also a member of the terrorist organization. Score +1 Hillary +1 Obama
8:45 Finally after 45 minutes some information on policy. Only problem, it was an AARP commercial that discussed health care. Score +1 AARP
8:50 The War in
9:00 George Stephanopoulos (former Clinton administration official, now an unbiased journalist, and interestingly a member of the secret society Bilderberg Group) asked about Iran. Obama will talk to them to make sure they do not get Nuke weapons. Score +1 Hillary
9:15 Taxes: Both said they are going to lower them and raise them in the same breath. Only rich people who provide jobs really need to worry here (so they say). This was interesting because the moderators did a good job of bringing up all the times that the candidates said they are going to raise taxes. Count on taxes going up if either of these people make it to the White House. Score -1 Obama -1 Clinton
9:23 An interesting commercial of an upcoming segment on ABC’s Good Morning America about people who complain too much. This commercial was well placed for a Democratic audience. Score +1 ABC
9:30 Comments about the Virgina Tech Shooting. This was an interesting topic because there were commercials during the debate about the Second Amendment. Both squirmed, Obama because of the clinging comment, Hillary because she dislikes guns and really did not want to go on record against them. She said we needed more police instead 100,000 to be exact (seems we heard that before in the 90’s)
At this point I had enough and went to bed. You can add up the score it doesn’t matter we all lose if Clinton or Obama becomes President.

This debate was unfair. All they did was ask Barack one tough question after another. Hillary Clinton got a total pass.

Well its about time someone asked him a few tough questions. So far its been like the Saturday night live spoof where they ask Hillary how she plans to cure AIDS and feed the worlds poor, then ask Obama if he is comfortable and would like a pillow. With a follow up of “Are you sure you are comfortable?”
If Obama does not get some tough questions the Republicans will chew him up in the fall.
