Bellavia Should Apologize For Comment And Move On

Did you catch 26th Congressional Candidate David Bellavia compare Barack Obama to Tiger Woods when he introduced Senator John McCain?  Pure and simple it was a dumb statement.  The longer he refuses to admit he made a mistake, the worse it gets.  Plus, the stumbling delivery wasn’t very impressive.

Comparing the two most famous Americans of mixed race is an amateur mistake. Saying it was unintentional is hard to believe.  Take a look for yourself.

  1. The only thing worse he could have said was to refer to “Those People”

  2. Bellavia was not comparing Tiger to Obama. He was simply making the point his sons will grow up to admire real heroes like John McCain and not sports figures like Tiger Woods. He used Tiger as an example because that is the first name to pop into his head. Yes, he took a jab at Obama at the end of his speech with the “Audacity of Hope” comment, but this was not about race either. David has been through hell and back and does not deserve these attacks. Did you know he is nominated for the Medal of Honor? Read his amazing book “House to House: An Epic Memoir of War”….then tell me what kind of person he is.

  3. KGOLDRICK,

Why should we cut Bellavia any slack as to what he meant or what he tried to explain later. We do not seem to be cutting Barack any slack over the comments he made about Pennsylvania. Words have meaning and he should be held to them like every other politician.
