Is This Sweden or the United States? Assembly Democrats and President Obama Would Bring Us Socialism
If Barack Obama gets elected president and the Assembly Democrats have their way, the people who create jobs in New York will look to do it elsewhere.
Senator Obama wants to remove the cap on social security taxes which is now $102,000 per year. He also wants to let the tax cuts that President Bush created roll back.
Closer to home, Sheldon Silver and the Assembly Democrats want to raise taxes for those evil, job producing, millionaires to 7.7%.
Lets look at the numbers
Senator Obama and Senator Clinton want to roll back President Bush’s tax cuts going back to a top rate of 39.5%
Obama wants to remove the cap on social security taxes. So that will mean a 12.4% tax on the entire amount of earnings not just the first $102k.
There is a medicare tax of 2.9%
Assembly Democrats want to make the tax on million dollar earners 7.7%
Now for the totals under Obama and Assembly Democrats
39.5% Fed tax
12.4% SS Tax
2.9% Medicare
7.7% State tax
62.5% Total tax to people who create jobs
That will mean on every dollar that a person who creates jobs, make only 37 cents on that dollar. Also lets not forget the fees and excessive regulations that business have to endure for the luxury of doing business in NYS.
My question is this: Why would any entrepreneur want to stay in N.Y.?
People are leaving New York in droves now. This is just one more reason to leave the Empire State. Some of them may move to Sweden (the country, not the proud home of County Legislature President Wayne Zyra) just to get a tax break.
Leave it to liberal Democrats — they are still trying to move us towards socialism when the countries who have tried it are abandoning it!

Uhm… Wait.. I don’t make a million dollars, nor do I even make six digits, but I pay almost the same rate. You know why? Because after that $100K mark, NY state tax rate goes down to 7.7%. You heard me right, you pay less state tax on income if you make more money. So because someone makes more than that they should get to pay less than I pay in taxes? Because they have more discretionary income, and use more public resources than I could hope to, they get to pay less?
And reality, you’re talking about federal taxes with Obama, which would affect everyone, not just NY state. You’re making it sound like Obama changing a federal tax would some how hurt NY state, when in fact, NY state has no problems attracting money makers.

Assembly Democrats are rich too!
The millionaires have no real fears. Sheldon Silver is on a million dollar retainer from his law firm. If the Senate passed this tomorrow, the Assembly would never take up the bill.
It’s all lip service folks. The rich Dems don’t care about you and me. Don’t be sheep. Don’t be so easily duped.
Greed knows no political party affiliation. That goes for you Liberals and Working Families Party people and everyone else too, my party included.
