Even though I’m voting for John McCain (I just can’t bring myself to vote for Socialism in this country) I was however very impressed with Barack Obama’s speaking ability. When he has some momentum, his speeches are uplifting and you are actually glued to your seat listening to him. However, when he hits a bump in the road, like when the Hillary political machine attacks him for a misspeak or with the Reverend Wright issue constantly looming over his head, Obama gets really thrown off his game. He stammers with his response and it takes some time for him to get back on track. My concern is that if he’s elected President, he won’t have the luxury of taking time to compose himself when he hits the daily bumps in the road as Commander in Chief. As Bill Clinton and George Bush found out, the leader of the free world has to be able to react immediately and with confidence and decisiveness.

A reader send us the link to this video — it’s from Pastor James David Manning, PhD, from the Atlah World Ministries, an African-American Church in Harlem.  Contrary to Reverend Wright’s view, it’s proof that not all black clergy members hate America or feel obligated to support Obama. 

We try to provide our readers with the information they need to make informed decisions.  We find it offensive that Reverend Wright would claim that criticism of him is criticism of Black Churches.  Well Reverend Wright, you can’t make claims or charges on behalf of an entire race of people.

Take Pastor Manning.  He doesn’t support Barack Obama.  In fact, Pastor Manning feels that Obama is “a long legged mack daddy” who hasn’t accomplished anything for anyone and he is offended that so many African Americans are supporting Obama simply because he is black.  Or as the Pastor points out — half black.

 I think the Pastor is supporting Hillary Clinton — he is very appreciative that former President Clinton opened an office in Harlem and spurred $250 million in investment in this area.  There is something very compelling about this video — I’ve watched it a couple of times — it’s just fascinating.

Barrack Obama has all but disowned Reverend Wright in a press conference. As many readers here know, I think that Obama lacks judgment. I find his “I will talk to anyone attitude” disingenuous. Senator Obama gave a speech and a press conference that did not put him in the best of light. He said it was not the Reverend that he knew, he said it was not what he stands for and what he is about. I again question his judgement.

The problem is we don’t really know who Obama is? We are learning and seeing the type of person he is now. It is so obvious that the Reverend was not taken out of context, that it was not a loop of a few statements over and over. Wright is an America Hater, He is a bigot with some lunatic opinions which Barrack Obama sat and listened to for 20 years. There is no way it was just a few sermons that Obama did not attend. This is who Wright is and it is obvious.  I predict that there will soon be people coming forward to say that Barrack was in church on some of those mornings.

If it was just Wright, he would survive. But the cumulative effect of Wright, William Ayers, bitter comments, his wife’s comments, the flag lapel pin, etc. are all tiny snowballs that rolled down a big mountain. What Wright did to Obama was paint him as a race candidate. Obama desperately tried to appear as the candidate of all the people. Now he has been painted as a black candidate and part of the worst of race based politics.

This is what stalled Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton’s aspirations.  Obama is done.

I find this pretty offensive.  Barack Obama’s Pastor, Jeremiah Wright, was a the Press Radio Club saying people who criticize him were criticizing the Black Church.  The more this guy talks the worse it is for Obama.  Take a look for yourself.

Surprise, surprize — the Democrat and Chronicle reports that Buffalo area businessman Chris Lee has received the endorsement at that meeting of Republican Chairman in Geneseo last night.  I couldn’t find anything in the Buffalo News. 

I’ll be interested in the details of what happened — maybe the Buffalo news will have something later this morning.  I’d like to know how much support David Bellavia received.  He’s the really arrogant war vet who compared Barack Obama to Tiger Woods and he was mad because all the Republican chairmen who didn’t support him were “acting in bad faith.”  Of all of the people who didn’t receive party backing, he seems like the guy with the biggest ego and most likely to force a primary.

NYS Senate hopefuls Rick Dollinger, Sandra Frankel and Willa Powell could not have had better weather in which to grandstand, I mean demonstrate, outside the office of Senator Joe Robach yesterday.

See our earlier post on the matter that caused all the hub-bub for the background on this story which led to the Rochester branch’s NOW-organized picket:

Barbara Moore, secretary of the Rochester chapter of NOW, said she didn’t think the candidates were using the issue for political gain.

“Economic justice, the economy, is the bedrock of the Democratic party and these are strong Democrats,” she said. “Democrats care about raising people out of poverty. They know something has to be done and they know pay equity is the way to do that.”

Uh-huh.  What Moore failed to mention is that Robach’s bill passed the Senate unanimously with bi-partisan support.  Moore also failed to address the mythological nature of discriminatory pay practices in New York and across the country.

Well done WBP!

The Republican race for the 26th CD nomination is starting to get interesting.  According to the Buffalo News, Rick Lewis, an executive from the Talking Phone Book, has received the backing of the “Western New York” Conservative Party:

That means Republicans, who are prepared to back rival Christopher J. Lee at a meeting set for Monday night in Geneseo, now face the real possibility of a split ticket against one Democrat in the November general election. It also provides Lewis with powerful leverage with Republican leaders for Monday’s meeting, as well as added incentive for him to wage a rare GOP primary in an effort to provide united opposition against the winner of the expected Democratic primary.

The Conservative nod — often the winning difference in close elections — puts the Republicans in a tough spot. They enter Monday’s meeting with five of their seven county leaders supporting Lee, an Orchard Park resident whose family once owned International Motion Control Corp. Though Erie County GOP Chairman James P. Domagalski and his Niagara County counterpart, Henry F. Wojtaszek, support Lewis, Lee has enough districtwide support to gain the endorsement.

There is a big meeting, the proverbial “smoke-filled room”, in Geneseo tonight where party chairmen are going decide on the candidate.  We will be watching the Buffalo News (I doubt the Democrat and Chronicle will cover this) and we will let you know what happens.

Raila Odinga is the current President of Kenya and the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).  Human Rights Watch has investigated ODM and claimed they organized ethnic-based violence in the Rift Valley of Kenya in order to take control of the disputed recent presidential election. In all, Kenyan police confirmed the deaths of 526 people nationwide.   Other reports have it as high as 1000 people killed.

Odinga’s campaign had an interesting theme to it  – ”Change”.  If that sounds familiar its because Obama campaigned for and supported Odinga.  Odinga claims to be a cousin of Obama.  Remember that photo of Obama in Muslim clothing in Kenya? That was during a visit to support and meet with Odinga.

Why didn’t Obama talk to Odinga and get him to stop the violence? This is how he proposes to solve our problem of evil people wanting to kill us. Will situations like this be political death for Obama as people finally start to learn who he is?

King Canute the Great demonstrated the futility of defying nature when he ordered the tides to cease crashing upon the shoreline. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a part of nature. 99.5% of whats on the earth is produced when we exhale. Plants then absorb the CO2 and in turn produce Oxygen that we again breathe. Al Gore demonstrates his futility of defying nature by wanting you to stop breathing.

Al Gore, the man who invented the internet and lost an election to the village idiot from Texas (what the liberals say not me) during a time of prosperity and peace. The smartest man in government managed to do this with more popular votes.

Now he keeps telling us we must stop CO2 emissions because we are destroying nature. To do this they have got their minions to tell us the sky is falling. The result is we can not drill for oil in ANWAR or build nuclear power plants. (Canada however drills for oil just on the other side of the Alaskan border and France uses almost exclusive nuclear power).

So if we can not use the resources we have, where are we going to get the energy and fuel to run all the Prius’s and flex fuel cars and the internet that Gore invented? We are going to divert our farmers product from food to fuel and energy. Manipulating free markets has led to the law of unintended consequences has given us food shortages.

Free Markets are very natural, they guarantee demand will create production. Al Gore, and most liberals, do not understand this. They never have and never will. This is why they fawn over the leaders like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. They look at them and see people who maintained power, and they admire them. [Read more →]

The six and seventh employees of the City of Rochester were arrested since Bob Duffy became Mayor a little more that 2 years after taking office. According to the morning fish wrapper, a 24 and 25 year employee of the City’s parking meter operation office were  arrested for stealing:

“This pattern of conduct, we believe, has been going on for a long time,” Mayor Robert Duffy said, declining to give further detail when announcing the arrests Thursday. “At this point, we cannot establish how much money has been taken.”

Anthony J. Morelli of Rochester, a 25-year city employee and supervising parking meter mechanic in the city’s four-person parking meter operations office, is accused of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, three counts of petit larceny, official misconduct and second-degree falsifying business records.

Samuel A. Vito Jr. of Hilton, a 24-year city employee and a parking meter mechanic, is accused of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny, official misconduct and second-degree falsifying business records.

The city brings in more than $500,000 annually from parking meters, records show, but has seen that revenue fall steadily in recent years.
