More Proof of How Bad Spitzer Really Was — In Case You Still Needed To Be Convinced

In case you needed it, there has been more proof uncovered of how bad disgraced former Governor Elliott Spitzer really was.  No, I’m not talking about revelations about a second escort service he used for whoremongering (and how one of the girls involved claimed the Steamroller liked to watch other people have sex — we would call him a freak where I come from), but rather I am talking about Troopergate.

I remember at the time of the initial investigation by Albany DA David Soares, my Democratic friends claimed the matter was over and proof that Client number 9 couldn’t have been involved. But Soares released a report that showed Spitzer to be directly involved in manufacturing a story to try and damage Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno.  This is from Rick Karlin in the Albany Times Union’s Capitol Confidential blog:

I’m in the middle of Albany County DA David Soares just-released Troopergate report and a couple of points jump out at me. For one thing, the Spitzer camp early on expressed concern about whether the governor might have a problem with his use of the helicopter, this as the TU was inquiring into use of the copter.

Then it looked like one of the more aggressive members of the Spitzer camp, visa vi Joe Bruno, was Peter Pope who first suggested the Inspector General and possibly the feds, investigate Bruno and his use of the helicopter.

Also notable was Spitzer’s reaction when former spokesman Darren Dopp, just to make sure, asked the ex-governor if he really wanted to release the records on Bruno. This came after the governor originally demurred on the idea of a press release, saying it would be too much of a distraction.

But when Spitzer finally decided to put out the records, he said, of Bruno, “F*** him, he’s a piece of shit, shove it up his ass with a red hot poker.”

Needless to say, Dopp noted that Spitzer was angry:

“Dopp stated that during this conversation with the Governor, the Governor was ‘frustrated’ and ‘angry’ and ‘he was letting it rip against Mr. Bruno.’  Dopp also testified that the Governor had ‘turned a little red and . . . he was drinking a cup of coffee and . . . as he was saying it, he was like spitting a little bit.  He was spitting mad.’  Dopp explained that, in an effort to try to defuse the Governor’s anger, in reference to the ’shove it up his ass with a red hot poker’ comment, Dopp jokingly inquired ’sideways’ boss?”

What is really interesting is that this was released Friday afternoon at 5:30 pm.  Also, Peter Pope is still working in the Governor’s office.  He should be fired and Paterson better clean house.  Also, Albany DA David Soares is a joke and his credibility has been destroyed by this fiasco — but that’s a matter for the good people of Albany County to take care of during their next DA election.

After all of this my thoughts keep going back to Client Number 9’s wife, Silda.  All of these confirmations are coming to light about what a first class jerk Spitzer is.  Is it possible that the guy who constantly lied to everyone, prosecuted many people unfairly when AG, broke the notoriously lax rules of Albany protocol, would turn red with anger and yell like a crazy man when he wouldn’t get his way, etc. was a caring and loving husband and father?

I really find that hard to believe.  How could such an intelligent, caring and attractive woman find herself with one of the world’s biggest creeps and stand by him and still be with him during one of the most embarrassing times any spouse has ever suffered? I’m sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing.

This is really starting to get crazy and a little depressing. Aren’t these the same democrats who every chance they get complains about the President violating the civil rights of terrorists who are trying to harm and kill us? When I say the same democrats I mean exactly that. On more than one occasion I have heard steamroller make such comments criticizing the President.

It’s been said around here before, and I am going to say it again and again. This is reason to maintain Republican control of the NYS Senate. If this crowd gets complete control of the state you will see this type of thing common. On second thought let me retract that. This type of thing will be common, but not reported on.
