Hillary in 2012?
Hillary and Bill Clinton are two of the most cunning politicians most of us have ever seen. Their tactics are right out of Machiavelli’s “The Prince”. For those of you who are not familiar with Machiavelli, he was a 14th century Italian Philosopher who is famous for his quote “The ends justify the means.” In Machiavelli’s “The Prince”, he describes the arts by which the Prince (a ruler) can retain control of his (or her) realm. He focuses primarily on what he calls the “New Prince”, under the assumption that a hereditary prince has an easier task since the people are accustomed to him.” This describes the Clintons to a tee.
What are the ends that the Clintons are looking at? Either she wins the Democratic nomination in 2008 by whatever means needed, then deal with the party and the general election later. If that is not possible, they will destroy Barack Obama so he cannot win in 2008 — leaving open the door for them to try again in 2012.
Hillary is relatively young in political terms. She is only 60 and probably has at least two more runs at it. However if Obama wins in 2008, he will run again in 2012, if that happens there is no way Hillary can challenge him in 2012 and will have to wait until 2016. In 2016 whoever is Obama’s running mate will have the inside track, much as Gore did in 2000. If she needs to wait until 2020 she will be 72. Look at the issues McCain is now having running at 71. We have already seen the pictures of Hillary with a tired wrinkled face. At age 72, no matter what she does or says, she will be perceived as old, tired and incapable (a sad fact of life that I understand but disagree with).
There are historical facts for my theory. In 2004 the Clintons did very little to help John Kerry. If Kerry had won he would be looking at a second term now in 2008 and a young John Edwards would be looking at 2012, with the power of the Whitehouse backing him.
My conclusion is, its now, 2012 or never for Hillary Clinton. After that it’s the hereditary princess, Chelsea who is warming up in the bullpen.

Right on the money. Hillary won’t be chosen as Obama’s veep, and she’ll offer tepid support at best. That’s the main reason she’s not dropping out; she wants to maim him first.
