MCC Presidency Heats Up — A New Cause For Assemblyman David Gantt and Company

Gentle Reader:

Our friends over at Mustardstreet are on top of the newest “controversy” — the selection of a new MCC President. Take a look at their post – once again they are spot on regarding the cause of the day.  Gantt is once again showing his political skills — deflect attention for his failings in Albany by leveling charges at Mr. Charlie once again.  It is rather predictable but why not?  The liberals in the media fell all over themselves with the Public Defender issue — why not go to the well one more time?

Nice work Philbrick and Company!

  1. Prudence

Its amazing how whenever there is a controversy the letter at the end of someones name matters? How many agencies are looked and said hmm… this person leading the agency has a (D) after their name. It’s only when they have (R) at the end of their name suddenly there is an issue and people like David Gantt show up making trouble.

What are we being led to believe that people with Yale degrees and successful business and government careers can not lead a community college? Would these people point to Lawrence Summers who was Treasury Secretary and went on to become President of Harvard? Summers never had experience as an educator either. Big difference was Summers had a (D) after his name.

Maybe what the college needs is someone who understands how the real world works and how to succeed in it? Do we just want another liberal minded policy wonk who will make sure that people like Ward Churchill and Cornell West get there viewpoint across?

  2. Great, we now have David Gantt wanting to pick both the Monroe County Public Defender AND the next President of MCC. What ever happened to David just trying to hook up his buddies with city government and city school district jobs?

Oh, that’s right, the city democrats aren’t letting Gantt call all the shots there any more.

When redistricting comes up, Gantt may actually request more suburban towns as part of his district so he can bully his way into controlling who gets what jobs in the towns.
