Hillary Clinton vs Barack Obama - The Latest Pay-Per-View Event

I honestly think the Democrats are going to blow it this year.

Given the current political climate, I never would have imagined that there would be anyone other than a Democrat in the White House come January 2009.  You have a sitting Republican President with low approval ratings; a war that has energized the radical and liberal left; and perhaps one of the best Democrat Party spin machines working every day to pin all the world’s evils on the GOP (global warming, sub-prime mortgages, pantyhose that won’t stay up, etc., etc.).

Several months ago, the Democratic National Committee must have been chompin’ at the bit to get the presidential election underway.  They knew that with either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, they could, in typical fashion, exploit various perceived misspeaks by the Republican nominee with regards to race or gender.  How great would that be?  It would just about put the proverbial nail in the coffin to secure the presidency for the self-proclaimed party of political correctness, acceptance and equality.

However, who would have thought that it would be the Democratic Party embroiled in what may very well turn out to be the most vicious and racially charged political primary campaigns in our nations history.

And who would have believed that it would be the Republican Party that would so quickly rally behind one candidate from amongst a field of so many spread across the entire political spectrum.

But, with perhaps the best opportunity in decades for them to soundly trounce the GOP, it is the Democrats who seem willing to throw it all away under a flurry of nasty comments and excuses for making them.

Whether it’s the intimation that a black president would not be a good idea because of a possible attempt on his life, Geraldine’s inappropriate racial comment or Clinton asking Obama to take the back seat as her V.P., or Barack Obama’s pastor’s racially charged speech against white people, or the fact that Obama’s camp is “peddling” photos of Pastor Wright shaking hands with Bill Clinton in 1998, it’s the dems who seem to be slinging the mud they so readily blame the GOP for cornering the market on.

Honestly, I don’t think the Dems know how to run a campaign any other way.  They’re so used to throwing bombs at the GOP, they appear to be unsure how to run a strictly positive campaign on their accomplishments and visions for our country’s future.  Even now, the Dems are claiming John McCain will be exactly the same as President Bush and that a McCain Presidency will mirror Bush’s.  That is obviously absurd.  McCain has been referred to many times as a maverick and is anything but an ultra conservative.

Bottom line, if the Dems keep this up, they are going to hand the presidential election over to the GOP.

Wouldn’t THAT be an odd turn of events!
