Aubertine Upsets Barclay!

Things aren’t looking good for keeping a Republican majority in the Senate.  We’ll provide more analysis tomorrow, but for you night owls, the Albany Times-Union has called the 48th Senate District for Democrat Darrel Aubertine.

  1. Finally!!!! Perhaps this signals the end of the dysfunctional government that is Albany —
    GO Frankel/Dollinger/Powell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Woo Hoo!

  2. Prudence:

By “end of the dysfunctional government that is Albany” do you mean that finally we will have a lockstep state legislature that will just bow to the iron fist will of Gov. Steamroller?

Oh. OK, then I guess you are right. No free will by the legislature (well, definitely the state senate). His Highness King Spitzer will rule all!

David Gantt, Susan John, David Koon and Joe Morelle don’t even buck Sheldon Silver to get more support for Rochester now. What makes you think any of them are going to speak up against Spitzer when he takes over everything? Gantt does block stuff (mainly stuff for Rochester), so I guess that has some applications in Spitzer’s New World Order.

We’ll get even less and no one will do a damn thing about it. That’s the *functional* state government we’ll be paying for.

Just curious. Are you from New York City because THEY are the ones who will benefit most from this new Distatorship you speak so highly of. Only a NYC resident could possibly want Spitzer’s New World Order.

If Frankel/Dollinger/Powell/Koon (although I hear Koon’s backing out cuz he has no spine) get into the state senate, they won’t do a single meaningful thing except vote for their own pay raise as a buyoff to ensure their complacency.

So far, Frankel/Dolliger/Powell have only spewed the same old BS rhetoric attack crap. Nothing meaningful in each of their campaigns so far. They’re already showing that they’ll fit right in with Spitzer’s New World Order.

Seriously, not one of these goofballs is fit to pass any serious laws in a state government. Koon fakes it very well. I don’t think he has sponsored and passed a single piece of meaningful legislation on his own. He is the quintissential “co-sponsor” - someone else does all the work and he just adds his name. Stupidly brilliant! Or brilliantly stupid!

We’ll get gay marriage, licenses for illegal aliens, more of our tax dollars for NYC, and abortion will be made legal (what the hell does Spitzer’s bill do anyway?) and nice fat, wealthy elected sheep.

Welcome to the New World Order Comrade. Here, have some kool aid.
