And Then There Were Three — Willa Powell Joins Fray — Will Seek Democratic Nomination Against Sandy Frankel And Richard Dollinger

In what can only be described as a set back for white male elitists, Willa Powell announced on her website that she is a candidate for state Senate.

Monroerising.com predicted that local Democrats wouldn’t be happy about a Dollinger candidacy — it looks like history is proving us correct.  As we stated last week:

Do you really think the Democrats will wait around for Richard Dollinger — the man who showed his true colors by deserting his party as chairman to realize his personal dream of signing off on traffic infraction plea bargains as a Brighton Town Judge?  We doubt the Democrats are waiting for “The Judge” to make up his mind.  How can they be assured he wouldn’t abandon them as he did as chairman — or how about when he announced twice he has going to run for re-election in 2002 and practically handed the seat to Robach when he announced at the last minute that he didn’t have the fire in the belly? Not to mention the two failed tries for higher judicial office.

Stay tuned sports fans –we’ll keep you posted on who else joins this crowed field.

  1. O Golly, I wonder if the 3 of them are just gonna attack each other until there is nothing left for a Democratic nominee but a nice pair of shoes?

  2. I can’t see Willa having much juice in the race. Should be a fun showdown between Sandy and Rick though I can’t see either one of them going too negative on the other.

  3. Willa didn’t do so well last time around. I think it’s because the Dems take the people in the City for granted, assuming they’ll vote for the D no matter what. Then they’re ignored for the next 11 months until the next campaign.

I think they’ll definitely go negative on each other in order to secure the win. Rick jamming Sandy with his announcement with no heads up has already set the tone. Sandy didn’t like that too much.
