Investigation On County Legislator Richard Beebe’s Failure To File Campaign Disclosure Forms Hits Roadblock

Bad News.  The state elections board doesn’t take anonymous tips for campaign violations — hard to believe.  I received this in response to my e-mail sent earlier in the week.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The New York State Board of Elections has received your complaint.  The Board’s
policy is that it does not act on complaints it receive that does not have a mailing
address.  Please send us your mailing address, failure to do so will result in your
complaint being closed.

Thank you.

This take us out of the picture.  If our site is to be effective, we need to have the protection of anonymity.

I live in a nice neighborhood, have a wife and three kids — I don’t want to explain to my 10 year old daughter why these guys with an inflatable rat are blocking our driveway.  Or how about Sister Grace and her crew holding a vigil?

I hope someone picks up the ball and runs with it. We can’t let this guy get away with this!

  1. i would consider it.

  2. Wow. So you mean to tell me that the State Elections board will NOT follow up on election law violations (which they know exist because THEY manage the database) by Mr. Beebe unless they have a mailing address that they don’t seem to need for any apparent reason?

In an effort to get them to move on it, try this one:

    1313 Mocking Bird Lane.

It’s where my friend Herman Munster lives. He said it’s cool.

So, unless someone puts their neck on the line for possible retribution from someone who didn’t like this issue being made public, Beebe is basically allowed to get away with it?

Dick knows he didn’t follow the election law… obvious from his filing of the reports he ignored, all at once on the same day. One could assume he only did this because it was pointed out here at Monroerising and he was practicing his CYA for his stint in county legislature politics.

He should just come clean. Although doing this so late after the fact, most likely means it’d just be some BS explanation cleverly crafted by his staff in the legislature democratic office, such as:

“While I was totally and completely unaware that this unformtunate situation occurred, when the matter became known by me, I personally took immediate steps to correct the issue and have implemented policies to ensure that something like this (that is not really that big of a deal in the first place*) never happens again.”

This is just off the top of my head.

Good work Cinci. It’s too bad that this impropriety looks like it’s going to be swept under the rug.
