Who Said Life’s Fair?
I just saw the R-News story about Henrietta Supervisor Jim Breese leaving office next week . You have to wonder what motivates someone 77 years old to serve for such a long time. It also reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend that I had awhile ago regarding our own Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, will be turning 79 years old this summer.
I could help but wonder — do women hold an unfair advantage in politics? Thanks to the wonders of plastic surgery, botox and whatever other wonders of modern science she takes advantage of there aren’t very many people who realize that the Old Gal is pushing 80. She’s been running for office since Gerald Ford was President.
Even the article in the D&C last week about taxpayers paying for Federal officials cars, which pointed out that the taxpayers pick up the tab for Louise’s Buick — the choice of the many old timers didn’t tell us the whole story.
After a little reseach, I found out that the average buick driver is a relatively youthful 70 years old – almost a full 10 years younger that our Congresswoman.
I suggest that all male office holders over 55 start to research plastic surgery options ASAP. Who knows what would have happened in last summers’ Henrietta Supervisor’s primary if Supervisor Breese sought the services of the Old Gal’s plastic surgeon.
