City Ambulance Contract — Council Overides Mayor’s Veto
Posted on December 28th, 2007 by Cincinnatus
What’s the big deal with Rochester City Council picking Rural Metro for the City’s ambulance contract? New York State Laws give the governing board, in this case, City Council, the power to award contracts. Any contract awarded via RFP does not automatically go to the low bidder.
Hats off to the Lois Giess, Glayds Santiago, Bill Pritchard, Dana Miller, Carolee Conklin, John Lightfoot, Adam McFadden, Bob Stevenson and Lovely Warren for having the courage to stand up to Mayor Bob Duffy and his “panel of experts” — most of — if not all of them work for the Mayor.
